Bastille Day (Night) snow run - any takers?

So we're expecting to (hopefully) see snow down to as low as 900m asl by tomorrow night, which means some of the hills around Melbourne might give us the opportunity for a bit of a Friday night snow drive.

This still isn't a definite, but thought I'd put it out there to gauge interest. Probably just an easy/medium grade run.

If it happens, there may be spare seats for vehicle-less individuals.

Any suggestions on destination welcome.

If we get enough takers, we could even mount a search party for the long lost Bogged on Mt Skene.

It can get scary at night when it's snowing hard. Can't see shit. But otherwise yes fun.

And looks like no takers, although no snow on Donna Bangs overnight. There may be some tonight though. There were some big black clouds over her earlier when I was out.

You can see shit. Shit is brown, snow is white.

A bit like the dreaded "yellow ice". Best to avoid if you want to make snowballs....

Hopefully. Will have the kids next weekend too, so a Saturday run could work.

Sorta looks a bit like "ice". I'm sure that you know what that looks like.

If you want a thrill, try skiing cross country skis on a full moon. A group of us did it years ago up to the top of Guthega Trig. OK -most of them were well and truly primed with grog (I don't drink at all), but the downhill run was terrifying. You could see the trees easily, but not the cornices or sudden changes in gradient. Lucky that none of the group broke anything. Some fairly heavy drops on the downhill run. We only did it once...
