I'm trying to modify the my cloddies steering so the the servo is mounted on the diff housing (one servo at each end - rather than one servo mid mounted working for both ends).....
But was just wondering who's don this and how you achieved it? |

There are a few ways of doing it.
Maybe I should just find some pics and send 'em to you.
Are you still interested Wooders?

Here is a pic or two of how I have done mine on the MudCow. Best way I have tried so far... and I have tried a few.
Keeps the servo out of harms way, CoG low and the linkages are very direct with crossover steering.i.e. no slop in the steering. I also put both linkages above the steering knuckles to increase clearance. |

That's pretty much how I ended up doing mine.
Depending on where and how you locate your suspension links and shocks, I have seen guys mount a plate to the metal axle brace and lay the servo down along it. Someone in the states also makes a pair of plates that come out from the axle bracesand allow tha servo to be mounted up-side-sown infront of the axle, again depends on your links and stuff. |

OK, I have been a little busy during my afternoons of late and have been investing some hours in the MudCow workshop.
Here are a couple of steering servo mounts that I have made up.
I can make more for others if you want. Make me an offer and I will consider making you some... |

Been too busy on the bigger toys to work on the smaller toys - but I've managed to make some brackets that should locate the servos fairly well - But I suppose I won't know how well until I can get the darn thing reassembled.....and I'm waiting on some 8T's before I even think about doing that |

You coming on Sun? I can give them to you then. Also show the mods you need to make to your trannys at the same time.
I have forgotten to bring them into work every day this week not very organised... |

I have mounted my servo's upside down along the diff brace .
This way i can keep all my links straight and parralel , no slop
Still a few bugs to work out but the servo's have plenty of power and throw. I would send some decent photos if i had a digital camera.
Isn't it time you upgraded yours JK i'll look after your old sony 8) |

Good one Russell,
Just go and get a usb port for your over powered calculator!
Then you can borrow mine! It's not flash but it does the job!
