Hi Guys,
This is something I would consider putting on my GQ If i suddenly came across some cash. I am intereste to know what Turbo's people have put on their 4.2 Diesels, and what the power output changed to, I think the stock is 85kw and 264Nm.
Thanks
Andrew |

i use one that goes wizzssss.
seriously both DTS and Denco are good, and since your in WA and they both have distributers there i would be looking at them.
but make sure you get a boost compensator, makes lots of differance

Hey Andrew,
I run a CT26 turbo from a Celica GT-4. Power is probably around 120-130kw, but haven't dyno'ed it to be sure. Used a home made "plenum chamber" exhaust manifold and a 3" exhaust. Fuel pump has been adjusted accordingly.

Sandy at Aus4wd has been making custom extractor manifolds for TD42's and mounting massive turbos on them with big front mount coolers.
Not sure on exact power outputs but they are friggen quick! Almost enough to convert me to a diesel fan..... |

My Safari with Intercooler makes 94kw at back wheels (35" tyre) at 2200 rpm. (100 kph)
Prev about 55kw before.
Engine output who knows, doesnt matter .
Aneroid would be nice but an extra grand plus or minus...

94kw at the wheels with 35z ...
have a dyno sheet here some where 165kw on 32z
safari turbo and intercooler on a diesel
would having my 35's on reduce the power that much? |

Dyno figures are a waste of time anyway. There are too many varitations between dyno machines so they are only really usefull for comparison when using the same truck on the same dyno.
I think mine out of tune and in need of pump and injectors was about 80 kw rear wheels with true 35s on but put it on a different dyno and figures would most likely be different!!!!
You know driving it if it goes well or not lol |

I agree, dyno figures dont always mean everything..
they just change a few numbers on the dyno machine such as air temp etc & it "works out" whats the HP should be..
every dyno would give you a different reading guaranteed.. |
