Guys,

for a while now I've had a problem with my intermittant wiper stopping half way. Works fine on normal and fast, but not on intermittant. Also when I turn them off from intermittant they won't return to the down position.

In the Isuzu forum links I posted I have seen this as a known problem. They state that replacing a small black box under the dash called the alarm control unit fixes this. How this relates to the wipers has got me Confused , but it does fix the problem.

Has anyone one had this or fixed it before Question

Thanks,
Wayne.

Guys,
for future reference if anyone ever has this issue, the problem can be fixed. Holden quoted $510 for the replacement module. Seems this module contains other circuitry for alarm, remote and control functions. The wreckers wanted $250. Both options BS to just fix the intermitent function.

Being into electronics I opened the module. And identified the relay that controled the function. Bypassing the relay showed the wiper system fuctioned OK. So I sourced a replacement relay for only $3 and replaced it. All OK now. Could start a little business here if it becomes more common in the future. Idea

As a side issue the buzzer that goes off with door open and keys not in the ignition is in this grey module (not black). Tempted to put tape over it to shut it up or even rip it out. #Crazy

Later,
Wayne

Well done Dipstick,

I had an amazing amount of grief dealing with the repair of the int wipers. Mine just wouldn't work at all and there must have been at least 6 seperate visits to Suttons Waitara and the changing of computers, switches bloody everything it seemed bar the wheel nuts. In the end I was dealing with Isuzu in Melb and the fix turned out to be a "loose connection". A loose connection in the repairer I would think. No doubt the same thing as your one. This was a '99 V6 SE and probably one of the first off the boat though.

Suttons Waitara eh? Ask Brad of his thoughts on them. I had issues but not as bad as Brads with Suttons and I was on a first name basis with the chick at Holden on the complaints line.
Suttons couldn't organise a fart at a curry eating competiton.
Glad someone found the fix for the beeper though.

By the way, if you go to Suttons Waitara you are obviously a Northside boy.
Give me a call and we can hook up at some stage. Braddy and I are always out and about.
