Have fitted an intercooler and manual boost controller to the 60. Now is time to add more fuel.

Which way do you wind the screw to increase the fuel on a 12ht, done a search and can find heaps on a 2h. Do I screw it IN or OUT, .

Cheers

Hey bud, if i were you id take it to your local 4wd centre and just have a yarn tell them what you've done and how much boost your gonna run, and see what the mechanics reckon, my old 12ht was boosting at 14psi at one stage it was mighty quick, but i tamed it down to 11psi and it never was beaten by another diesel ever. I raced 80series, 100series, brand new 06 muster ute, nothing could match that mighty 12ht!!
And the best part it was in an old run down lookin 60series with rust everywhere and looked atrocious!!
So if your engine is in good nick, my experience tells me 11psi is heaps, any more and your drinking more fuel than its worth.

No bullshite, raced other boosted 12ht's aswell smoked them, the bloke from Sydney Diesel Service reckons it was a freak engine.
Couldnt give a rats a@# if ppl here dont believe me either, i have 30 mates from that area with diesels and will say the same bout that 60 as i do.
And every now and then, some bloke would come up to me in a carpark and comment on how quick it was and wanna know what was under the bonnet..
The good old days......

Mate your best bet is get onto someone that is experienced in performance work, on diesels.
He will know how to get every of horse out of that engine, but basically it boils down to
1. A good Turbo
2. Correct boost
3. Correct Fuel timing/flow, and
4. A good exhaust.
Those are the base to an engine that works hard, then follow the chain along to regular servicing of injectors, oil changes every 5000km or before, filters, and check your water trap etc etc, i bet that is clogged to the shithouse, on the 60's its against the chassis under the drivers door, undo the drain plug, leave the motor running or u will have to bleed the lines, that always seemed to work for me.
If that trap fills up, the orange FILTER light will come on, down near the ashtray, i have had alot of guys over the years tell me how they saw it and changed oil filters air filters fuel filters and it was still on #Rofl
I shouldnt laugh, i worked it out the hard way too Embarassed

Sambo & Wozza, can you post pics of your intercoolers?

I'm about to purchase a PWR 600x300x50 core with 2.5 inch piping. About $600.

I'm interested in the pipe layout, intake manifold piping and fitment behind the grille.

I currently have 11psi, 500degC max post turbo and LPG. Want more !! Big difference between cold and days.......

Thanks,
Dunc.
