Does anyone have any info on Where & When Rnd 4 will be?
It is on the CCDA web site for Oct 10-12 but no venue.
Any info would be good. |

Was talking with Smithi and Al last night. They are going to view a property this week-end so we should know more early next week. |

It is highly improbable that it will be on the cup weekend. It is more likely to be held 10 - 12/10/08 or the following week.
There were certainly discussions around vic winch and round 4 being held at the same venue at the same time. Vic winch tracks would have some differences in them however. |

Sucks for the people that want to enter both tho
Or marshalls that might be giving vic winch a crack this year |

It seems this is all a repeat of last year when dates where changed a number of times for the vic winch . I understand it is a difficult job for event organizers to secure properties and also organize marshals. Myself along with many other people (both marshals and competitors) don't believe running the two events side by side is the answer. This can put an incredible strain on marshals having to cope with two events on the one weekend and could also the limit number of cars competing as some may wish to do both events.
We would have thought that seeing that the alpine has now been officially canceled that it would be the ideal opportunity for the organizers of this incredibly professionally run event to demonstrate to the new and up and coming how a great event can be held.
We understand that the CCDA do a great job with sometimes little or no thanks, but maybe they need to look at the valuable resources others have to offer to help run events . |

I want to thank the guys that are organising it no matter what form it takes, it is very difficult to get property and planning approval.
As a competitor this year in a number of events, you cant be anything but grateful to the marshalls, organisers and everyone that makes these events possible.
We are very lucky in Victoria, we have had a good number of comps and they have been awesome tracks this year.
Of course things can always be done better, particularly if we get behind the people running them and give them our support. |

email from mike smith on 25th of august 2008
HI Ben,
We are aiming for 10-12 October. The permit for the property has been
submitted but it won't be plain sailing to get it through. We have held back
the CCDA Newsletter until next week to get an indication from the Shire if
the application will be successful so that we can publicise the event.
Rgds,
Mike
EDIT: Was the meeting on the 24th, like the CCDA calendar says, or was it on the 27th? Cauz 1 date makes my info relevant, the other doesn't. |

we went and looked at a property near sunbury which will more than likely be used for rd4 and vic winch, really easy to set tracks up, heaps of steep gullys with plenty of rocks |

Its not Gregs property, that was used a couple of years ago is it? Just out of Lancfield. |
