Electric or Nitro\Petrol
Eletric it is hard to go past the Axial, $360 from TTS, then add a ESC controller and battery, and you're away .
Nitro, dunno but you need ya head read .
Petrol, go a Baja 5b, $1350 odd from RChobbies |

Axial are putting out a RTR scorpion which is around the same price as the kit just it doesn't have as many shiny green bits
if you want nitro 4x4 your best bet would be a traxxas revo or tmaxx, they are not the cheapest cars around but you really get what you pay for and they have some of the most reliable motors i've ever used and there are heaps of upgrades on the market for them
Cheers

nitro id suggest a savage(hpi) or LST2(losi) both are larger .28 .32 (BB atleast) unlike the smaller traxxas(.15 .18 off memory)
elec. id lean towards teh CR01, great lookin jiggers. |

The LST2 would be good ( i got the original LST and the only problems i had with it was the motor) i wouldn't touch a savage, i'm not sure about the newest version but i know the older ones had crappy drivelines and that turned me off them
even though traxxas trucks do run small block motors they have more than enough power the 2.5(.15) was maybe a bit small but the 3.3(.18) has more than enough power i just think they are a good beginner monster truck because of the EZY start and they are fairly easy to tune
the Cr01 looks good shame they didn't make a 40 series High Lift or even better a high lift short wheel base zook
another thing to concider is availability of spare parts it depends if you want to support your local hobby shop or just buy off the net |
