Hey all. I own a 2002 Turbo Diesel Jackaroo and like any other Jackaroo owner want some extra clearance. Just wondering if anyones got any ideas of the best in terms of lift vs. road handling. I'd like to get about 2" of lift but not alter the handling too much. Also how big can I go on tyre size with this lift and what would be the ideal A/T tyre?

Many thanks all.

you can go to :

285/75r16 (33") on a 8" wide rim, not sure of the offset

265/75 is a 32" fits the standard rim
245/85 is a 33" fits the same rim, without effecting the economy as much

the ideal size is either the 265/75 or the 245/85, 265 is more stable (extra height is offset with extra width) but the 245 can actually increase economy (tread dependent)

-------------------------------------++++++++++-----------------------------

2" OME coils
have the tyre store wind up the front when they do the wheel alignment

that is all

out of pocket $300

you don't need torsion bars
you don't need new front shocks
you don't need any brake or cable extensions
you *may not* need new rear shocks

you have to be careful with larger shocks, some brands are oversized, some are already good for the 2"

if you do the 2" consider a balljoint flip and balljoint spacers- this will regain 1" of the loss in down-travel with the frontend windup, but it is not critical
it is necessary for the 3" as is much more (diff drop, spacers, shocks)

----------------------------+++++++++++++++++++------------------

no matter how much you lift it, you will notice an instant difference in the handling

when i fitted the 265/75 i could definately feel the extra height, the handling was much better, didn't feel as loose footed
