I'd like to run it on the outside but I have already machined out the center of the rotor larger than 106mm. If I put them on the outside now they won't sit central. I could throw them and start again but I bought them new. Maybe Greg and BeeBee will take them.

Maybe I should have started this thread before jumping into it. cussing

The studs hold it central not the centre hole. Its no different then bolting a wheel on.

they go on the inside if you run toyota calipers!! subaru calipers are much thinner and allow you to run then on the outside.
damn its not that hard, just measure the distance from the 'outer' internal face of the pad to the outside of the caliper, this will give you the answer!! Confused

15mm holes on 12mm studs. Thats not going to stay central. It's the tapered whell nuts that keep ya wheel central.

Mine are 80 or 82 model Subaru Brumby front calipers.
Just like these, but these DON`T have the mounting bracket.

My brackets are just a bit of 10mm flat plate and then 2 spacers.
You could make them at home with a grinder and a drill press.
Then the only other special tool you`d need is a brake line flairing tool.

im looking at running falcon xh falcon rear calipers with the hilux S/A front, brackets are going to be a pain in the ass. i turned down the outer of the chromo axle flangeand bored the center of the rotor hat. fits a treat.

Yep - 80 series, surf or four runner ones should fit.

Finished makin up the brackets. Now just got to get the time to fit. Hopefully the caliper is central to the rotor.

The master cylinder is a bolt in swap, but then you need to rebend the brake lines as they enter the MC from the other side. If your carefull youcan do this by hand.

Bootser is meant to be a bolt in swap, I have never done it so am only going on what I hve been told.

I think I had to make the hole in the fire wall slightly larger.

Do these help?

This one didn`t come out very clear but it should show you the handbrake lever. I had to mod mine a bit to clear the top of the spring pack because I run lift blocks in the rear.

I know this is probably a stupid question but what model luxes are you doing this mod to?
Could you adapt this to a late model or would it be a bit too much f#*kin around with the ABS n stuff and could you easily upgrade this brake booster too!

Dave, do you reckon the handbrake would be strong enough on each caliper to be used as cutting brakes?
