As far as i know they are sold buy cal offroad at around $1200 per end, and have been tested to be the toughest cv around , i've heard the breaking strength but can't remember the result.
Does anyone have anymore info ?

Quite possibly a manufacturing issue. How did the products distributer handle it ?

if these were cromo ones 300kw should not break them unless they were over steered. there would have to be other contributing factors.

sorry but i don't believe it!! after running the cal cv's in the SUPERIOR ENG GQ since they were first released, we have broken everything else BUT the cv's. 3 rear axles (snapped) 2 twisted like pretzels, 6 locking hubs. Crying or Very sad But now with the new Superior hub rings we seemed to have fixed at least one problem! Embarassed . This is on an xtracab GQ with 260rwhp (330+rwhp on the NOS) with twin stick for rear-low burns, and rear disconnect for front digs. it run 40" comp spec maxxis trepadores.

I just put them in tonight, they look bling!

These Cvs are unbeleivably strong, yes the romour is true we have had one axle break, this is one axle out of hundreds and is the only axle we know of anywhere in the world that has broken. this axle broke at the Cooma comp. The truck that broke them runs at around 330kw at the wheels.
we where at the comp and we dismantled the joint and repaired it so the vehicle could continue to run. I saw the truck drive up an extreme hill under full power with only left side front tyre driving and it was under massive load and he couldnt break it.
THe CV and axle he had was one of the 1st prototypes and we are looking into why the axle broke. There was no stress at all on the Cv joint.
we spent many hours working in the dirt to rebuild his joint to make sure he could run and we will be supplying him a new CV and a new axle.
this truck did run multiple tough stages before it broke, and without the CalOffroad CVs I saw a stock one break on half of one course along with the end off bearing spindle

anyone with any questions on the strength just needs to talk to anyone running the CalOffroad Cvs and axles and you will hear many stories on how strong they are

we stand behind our product and any issues you just need to give us or one of our resellers a call

I have spoken to you many times, but unfortunatelly we do not make what you are after, we can supply you Cvs without axles no problem but we dont make the axle size you are after. it is a large process to make our Cvs and axles and has taken many years now to get them where they are. I wish we could just pop you out a couple of custom axles but we have large production commitments that are booked nearly a year in advance, we have to do this to acheive the strength and reliability and without this process the joints would be much more expensive.

Perhaps SOLID can make an axle to work with the C/V??. Happy to hear you guys were there to back the product, I'm going to give mine some Shtick at the Ateco. I didn't realize there was another vehicle running over 320 rwkW. Mine has 325 rwkW and every time I got into it at round one 1 broke a stock C/V, two on one stage even.
I'm guessing it was Andrew Cassar even though no one is mentioning who. He has that sort of power.

Pete and Birdy would have to be pushing the same amount of power/torque as Casser. Engines all built by the same person. Its just that the other two seem smoother.

Also good to hear there is a GU setup. But I will be lucky to have 150rwkw's so dont expect any issues.

thought they would of held upto more abuse. people claiming gq cv to be unbreakable with 40inch sticky treps, 260rwkw rara. the specs on gu are higher and 1 broke a few stages in. there spose to be approx 7-8000 pnd higher break than a stock gu of 4000pnd. some people haven't broken a genuine gu one yet with similar power. Confused
