What's the difference between power and stereo cable?

If it's the same size, eg 12AWG, I was told stereo cable is not suited for power applications due to higher resistance.

I was told amps etc need a certain resistance for it to not 'see' an open circuit???

It all depends on what amp you want to run.

If this information was given to you by a "doof-doof" guru, you have pretty much answered your own question.

Copper = Copper
12 AWG = 12AWG

OFC ccables make sweet FA difference in any significant terms (maybe fractions of a milliohm per hundred feet).

All "marketing" directed to ricers.

Take as read.

the resistance your talking about is speaker load, as far as cables go tho, they are equal, just measured differently

Yeah I figured if the cable size is the same, and they're both made of copper then resistance should be the same.

Freakin' audiophiles wanting something different.
