Gday to one and all

My Names Ken new to OL not to Landrover
I have a Series 2 Discovery and want to do a 2" body lift
Its allready got a 2" suspension lift (Tough Dog coils n springs)
I was going to lift it 4" but have been messed around with the springs so Id rather keep it as is and do the body lift instead
If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be appreciated
I understand that you can buy barstock and make your own but a kit would be easier as it will have everything needed
My aim is to fit 35s as Im installing Trutracs front and rear with ashcroft axles and 4.11 CW&Ps
The only bit Im weary of is cutting the rear guards to fit the tyres but with the excellent tutorial Slunnie has imparted Im sure all will be sweet

Cheers Ken A.K.A D2MUCH

G'day Ken,

Are you able to BL a 4WD with SRS?

No lockers? 35's = hard 4wding = lockers. Very Happy I think they're the go.

Hey Simon

I dont think you are supposed to do a BL with SRS Wink
Lockers? U mean ARBs or similar
Wouldnt Trutracs give similar performance with 80% locking ability?
I got the springs last week got them home then checked the part numbers
they are only a 2" lift Mad
The retards at the shop I ordered them from had the wrong springs made
even after I gave them the right part numbers hence being a bit annoyed
and thinking of a body lift
I might just take a deep breath return the springs and get them to speak to Mr Cherne Re: my 4" springs

I've the original springs here if you want to use them???

They are well used and abused, but if they're any good for an interim I can send them over???

The lockers will give better control in the tricky stuff. Sometimes you don't want wheel spin or you just want to control the inching rather than wearing the inconsitencies of the ETC.

I might take you up on that offer Simon
What springs are you running now then?
I still need to get the shocks orgynised though
I have the ABS and brake extensions still need the crossmember extensions and a set of front ACE swaybar pins for the rear
Apart from that its all I need isnt it?

I'm running the same springs, just a new set.

I think you've got everything considered re other parts.

The rear sway bar links are to sort the handling rather than to make things fit.

Would you consider selling the old springs ?

Have they sagged at all ?

Why did you replace them ?

Yeah, you can have the $100 or whatever you think they're worth. I've just got them sitting here "in case" which probably means for nothing in reality.

I don't believe they have sagged. When I replaced them I thought that they had sagged which is why I pulled them out. I was also preparing the Disco to do Hay River. When the new springs turned up and were installed... well, the Disco came up pretty much the same as what it already was. The Disco was just fat with everything that was on it these days. I do run shims on the DS, though that seems to be due to the LR companion tank, Dual batt and driveline that is all weighted to that side. I don't know of anybody else that has shimmed that side though.
