hey all

the ct26 i am fitting to my 1hz is off a 7mgte or summat like that. the high pressure oil line into the little manifold on the turbo center housing is just a 3/8th steel pipe that the wreckers thoughtfully cut short with a set of side cutters Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

any idea how i would get a braided oil line to mate with this?? my house mate suggested that i have it flared like a brake line and have a compression fitting on it. would this work? would some one like my local pirtek guy be able to do it?

also i had to rotate the compressor housing 90 degrees so only one of the two mounts for the wastegate actuator can be used. by doing so there is a tiny bit more closeing pressure preload on the wastegate. does this mean it will have to boost slightly higher before opening the wastegate?? likely to be a problem? it looks like it is pulling the wastegate diaphragm in by about 2mm

Hey,
pirtek should be able to braze a fitting onto the end of your pipe so they can attach the braided line.

I think if the wastegate actuator has been pushed in it will boost less. You usually raise boost pressure by spacing the actuator back away from the exhaust housing.
Can you just adjust the wastegate rod so that it is in the same spot as standard?

the actuator has gone the other way. it's being pulled slightly more. I like the idea of getting a little more boost over factory but i'd prefer to use a boost controller to do it. not only that, i can now only use one of the factory mounts on the housing so it looks a bit dodge. i will have to get a pic so everyone can see.

Yer get pirtek or enzed or similar to braze on a fitting, or double flare etc will work

Redrill the hole in the gate arm to relieve the tension on the acuator or get it running and see what boost it is spooling if its 1psi its not worth worrying about, it will run more than standard anyway with an aftermarket exhaust etc, i made 10-12psi with an aftermarket exhaust

You could make a new bracket for the acuator to utilise both factory holes.

Or you can run a cheap external gate, there fine for low boost apps.
