was awesome up the high country last night and this morning... snow at craigs was nearly knee deep walkin to the hut, ours and another group arrived at same time were first groups there for the day...
wanted to camp at the small flat just down (200mtrs)from the hut, but it was too deep in snow already at 5pm yesterday to setup tents :(
Wanted to do the track over Stirling, but gates closed May 1
Cops were crusing round with the parks people round sheepyard on saturday morning, not sure why though.

Do you know if the Monument Track which comes in off the track over stirling about 500 metres from Craigs Hut also closed on 1st May or can you still get to Craigs Hut that way?
When do parks close down vehicular access to Craigs Hut for the winter? |

Saw the other thread in Trips/Tracks. It looks awesome up there at the moment. If there is still snow there next weekend I might go up Saturday morning and camp at the Hunt Club on Sat night!! Hopefully it stays cold all week. |
