they r diferent dude, exhoust is on diferent side it uses a diferent gearbox, and engine mounts r diferent.
but i spose if u were to get hold of a h150 box out of a later model 75 and use that box and transfer it wouldnt be that hard. |

We've got a fair few HZJ75's at work, and they run an W52 gearbox behind them like the 2H ones. (from memory, would have to check on monday)
the HZJ79's run a R151 behind the HZ. |

w52 is a hilux box i think? The 2H uses the H55f. I thought the 1HZ's used the H55f as well, only with a different bellhousing and input shaft?
Engine mounts (as well as wiring/plumbing, obviously) have to be altered.

the gearbox on a 2h also sits at an angle to the gear box cross member (9 degrees) , where a gear box on a 1hz sits flat to the gear box cross member so a later model gear box cross member would also be need to be fitted, thats if they bolt up, just jamb a v8 into it or just look around for a 2h, picked one up last year for my brothers truck for $300 compleate

Thanks for the info guys, I think I will put a 2H back in it. I only use it to tow the boat to ramp and back, so it doesn't do alot of K's .

\\ yeah, your right it its the H55F
The 75 series kept the H55F gearbox when they went to the 1HZ motor, but when they went to the 79 series in 99, they fitted the R151 behind them |

You will have to cut off the old engine mounts and weld on the 1hz ones and will have to mod the sump too.
gearbox has a different input shaft (more splines i think) think i used my old crossmember and for some reason i put the later dash cluster in.
but putting in a 2h in good nick will be easer to do. |
