I don't know specifically where you'll find one, but OL has more than one Victorian based goose, so there should be one somewhere. Very Happy

Have you tried trading post?

That's generally a good starting point.

That's how we found our chickens Smile

Oh no - you've found my dirty secret barnsey...

I think I googled goose breeds - as I was trying to find out what breed our freebie (mongrel) goose is. Btw - our (chinese) gander is a horny bugger - he tries to jump on the ducks as well. 6.5kg gander, 1.5kg duck - you get the picture...

try the victorian poultry fanciers association http://vpfa.org.au/
these guys are the ones that organise shows and specific breeders accreditations etc in the poultry showing breeding industry . they should have a list of approved breeders in victoria and be able to match up specific breeds that your after.

Interesting.

There's even info on how to wash your fowl.

Nothing worse than a filthy rooster, I suppose, especially if you're going to exhibit your rooster at a fowl show.

Quote:
How to Wash a Fowl

The method of washing a fowl has been described on many occasions, but it is worth repeating as it is a most important operation, though quite simple when one knows how to do it.

Learn how to pick up a chicken properly too, grab 'em by the feet. Otherwise you run the risk of choking your chicken in public.

as a kid we had show chooks and had to wash/ shampoo them before each show then put baby oil on their combs, wattles and feet . its suprising how much effort some of these breeders go to to present their chooks and also how much some of these birds are worth - we had some worth over 5 grand per rooster because they were a rare breed .

$5K!!!!!

You'd want to look after a rooster like that, then! Shocked

It might seem a bit odd, putting baby oil on your rooster, to some, but hey, some hobbies are serious business, eh?
