i would just like to say a few words.

As much as i understand your job forces you to deal with morons.
You bring alot of what is mentioned in your letter on to your self.

When my younger brothers car was stolen from our front yard, you took 6 hours to arrive, then tell us there is nothing you can do.

when you pulled me over in my MK2 ford escort, you claimed that

1: my rear brakes where leaking fluid. (yet these brakes are barely 3 weeks old) infact you didn't back off untill i was prepared to disassemble my brake on the side of the road to prove it.
2: you also claimed i had a huge oil leak on my gearbox. seems as though you can't tell the differnce between an oil leak and GLOSS BLACK VHT DRIVE LINE PAINT.
3: the female officer with you took me to the front of my car a told me, and i quote, "you have oil coming out of this thing"...... that thing was my BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER, if oil was coming out of it, my brakes would have been that . i wouldn't have been able to stop for you.
4: you tell me my exhaust was to loud, and give me ticket for it. when i had it tested the next day, IT WAS 7db UNDER THE LIMIT FOR A CAR THAT AGE.
5:you missed my ilegaly modified gearbox crossmember i had used to do the auto to manual swap.
6: you the fact my reverse lights were switched by a toggle switch on the dash and not by the switch on the gearbox.
7: you missed the fact that this car had in the past had turret cut that was poorly weled and not certified in anyway at all.

the above are all true

If you spent more time PATROLING THE STREETS you presence alone would deter more people from breaking the law then any chopper ever could. you would then need less choppers in the air to find these people.
you said it your self. some people don't even realise the chopper is there

you'll find that when you pull some over to defect the car they drive, they'll be less pissed off IF YOU ACTUALY FINE THEM FOR SOMETHING THAT IS WRONG WITH THEIR CAR.

FIND THE GUY THAT STOLE MY BROTHERS CAR.
THEY KEEP STEELING CARS BECAUSE YOU DON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.

If your car was leaking anything that’s good enough, there job is not to disassemble your illegally modified car to check for problems with dodgy welding seriously get real! Maybe the domestic Violence’s they attend are more important or the mob of teenagers bashing each other at the local park did you ever think about that? Maybe they just attended a high speed car crash where someone was dead then they have to go and deal with some idiot acting shity with them over nothing!

I thank all police, they do there job as well as they can and I hold them in the highest respect and hope to become a officer in the future.

Thankyou Police!

thats my point, my car was not leaking anything at all. they tried to fine me for things that were not faulty, yet they didn't notice the things that were wrong with my car.
no need to disassemble anything, they had their heads under the car already, all they had to do is look and actualy have half a clue as to what they are looking at
i was hardly acting shitty over nothing, fine me for the genuine problems or don't bother at all.
it was a blatent case of we'll just pull this guy over and hand out a fine.
and they wonder why they cop shit from people.

ok i respect the work that the police do but i believe that a defect should be handed out by the RTA (for nsw) and a qualified motor machanic that is working under the banner of the state not some one who is unqualified to hand out shuch infringement notices where state guidlines or regulations should be followed, i personly hav had my vehical defected and some of the stuff i did deserve! but i would say 40% of the "defects" that where written down where infact passed as being to RAT regulation, so as far as doing a good job i do agree they do, but when it comes to this topic i believe that the officer handing out the defect should be a qualified motor mechanic so at least he knows wat the roads and traffic athority rules and regs are.

your kidding right? get your head out of your arse, half the time they don't ever turn up for ANYTHING.

i used to hold them in great regard. the only times i needed them, they failed to show. (when i had to stop 2 blokes dragging a chick into a car, and the time we had some druggy scum on the property). so as far as i'm concerned, they don't do the job intended.

they will however defect a car for having FACTORY FITTED power windows, a LOCKED DOOR, and a FACTORY STEERING WHEEL...

Oh, and apparently they can't lift fingerprints off a crow bar. i felt like taking above mentioned crowbar to the officers head to test the theory... considering it was left in my brothers car after they racked all his stereo gear....

the cops do a great job, except when you need them. Rolling Eyes

and apparently it's not a threat unless the person say "i'm going to bash tomorrow at lunch time.."

apparently when he says "you better what yourself tomorrow, cos i'll be waiting" doesn't count as a threat.

Can I just point out, Police work on a priority basis most important jobs come first and secondly you do know its not the police that make the law right? They enforce it.

I called the police because the stranger who moved into the flat over our back fence was threatening to jump the fence and drop me, while my pregnant wife was in the backyard with me.
She pulled me up and made me go inside when started yelling back.

I had never seen this bloke before or talked to him before.

I rang the police after this had gone on about 3 times in 1 week.

They considered it a domestic, WTF, some psycho I have never seen in my life threatens me and apparently it's a domestic. To me that's just too lazy to get involved.

They finally came round and saw us, then popped over to see him, that was that.

Now if I stood somewhere public and continually threatened to bash someone I had never met, they would lock me up surely.

I have dealt with good cops and bad cops, most good, but the bad ones a crunts.

Cheers

if handing out a fine for exhaust noise, when the car is well under the legal limit is what happens when you work in priority. then it's a . up world we live in.

or to fob someone back out the front door of the station just because the threat wasn't detailed enough, even though the guy that made the threats was a customer at our workshop, and we had on hand his rego his phone number and his adress, they couldn't even make one . phone call to follow it up, they could knock on his door and and spend 10 mins to sort the shit out. NO aparently peoples safty isn't priority

if the same threat was made to a cop, you'd bet the guy wouldn't make it three steps befor getting cuffed.

I wonder, all the members whinging about coppers being @rseholes etc, how would they feel if someone said all 4x4 owners are road hogging knobs.....

As for coppers being late to jobs, maybe that has something to do with how understaffed and under funded they are from the piss weak state governments we have running the show at the momment.....

1. If you get pulled over and fail the attitude test, don't expect any favours.

2. Consider taking some RESPONSIBILITY for your possessions/actions and see how things improve.

3. Maybe if the courts did something about putting the repeat offenders in Gaol, and Gaol was a place for punishment, not learning more criminal acts, playing Xbox/playstation, watching TV and beefing up with weights (all funded by the decent people out there) then things would be better.

4. Unfortunately a lot of folk dont have the ability to realize that what they read in the paper and watch on TV is 99% of the time either made up by reporters to get a good story, or incorrectly reported.

ever think the attitude has developed from dealing with innefficient dufus's? my worst dealings with the police have been when i was "yes sir, no sir" polite...

the problem is that they don't enforce it.

pulling up a drunk driver that is swerving at pedestrians. i would think that by law they should breathtest him. they let him go without testing.

the law is that a car must have working door locks, yet they defect you for those door locks?

as for priority, wouldn't 2 guys dragging a girl into a car be a high priority job?

which is higher priority in your mind? turning up when a family reports a violent offender on their property, or having 2 squad cars turn out because the guy you just arrested then released is complaining of a bruised shoulder, and the ambo's refuse to go there without backup?

In those situations why were they speaking to you?

Was it because they thought you had done something wrong?

1. true to some extent. some coppers treat polite citz as badly as arrogant criminal scum.

2. i take full responsibility for my locked door and for buying a car with power windows... still didn't see any improvement.

3. true to an extent, but if your disolutioned with your job, then find another one. you'd be shitty if the chick at your bank failed to transfer your pay into your account because she was dissolutioned by the financial state of most of the customers. if your mechanic was sick of seeing people mistreat their cars, so he filled your sump with thinners instead of oil you wouldn't be happy.

4. B.S. the police are very good at looking after their own. so they would be one of the first to launch a defamation case if there was not facts to back up the story published. i mean if Corbies druggy little sister can sue channel 7 for their claims she is a druggy, imagine what the police force would do to a journalist that made up stories involving police corruption? not to mention most of us aren't basing our opinions on news stories, but personal dealings.

random breath tests generally, although the defect for power windows i was pulled over because their system said my car was owned by an "unlicenced driver". a computer error.

only ever been pulled over twice for doing the wrong thing, once for speeding, once for using a mobile. both times i copped it on the chin fair and square.

i never expect favours from them.

all i expect is for them to do their job properly, nothing more, nothing less.

The LAW that they are meant to enforce doesn't have an attitude cluase.

Pull me over, fine me for anything that i have done wrong or any defect my car has, and i'll cop it with out problem.

But if they want to start with the BS and try to fine me for something i havn't done or something that IS NOT DEFECTIVE on my car. Thats when we have a problem.

I got a Canary years ago on an old HD Holden because the copper insisted that the "Ball joints" were knackered, I kept insisting that they were not, but being mechanically trained as he put it to me, he knew far more about cars than a "quote"18 yo long haired smartass.

When I kept insisting that there was no problem at all with the "Ball Joints" he finally asked me how I knew there was no problem. I then told him that HD Holdens don't have Ball Joints they have a King Pin front end.

He still put the canary on the car but when his mate burst out laughing was the best bit..

Took the car to the local mechanic and got the canary off within 10 minutes as there was nothing wrong with the King Pins either.

I have a brother in law who used to be a cop in Surfers Paradise....What a shitty job. His first day he had to scrape someone off the pavement, who had committed suicide from about the 20th floor of a high rise.

I have a lot of respect for "The Blue Line"....But some of them are tossers!

I know of a Sargent who, "on the clock" actually does computer work on the side. I understand that all coppers don't do this, but at the end of the day, he still is taking up very valuable resources....including marked police cars!!!

Cheers, Dano.

"passenger side window missing window winder".

the power window switch was in the centre console, where they were factory fitted. i showed her this, and showed that they went up and down, but she refused to remove it from the ticket.

one other on the same ticket was "drivers door handle doesn't work", because the first time she tried it the door was locked. i unlocked it, and it worked fine the 2nd time she tested it...

What specifically was the defect for the power windows?

"passenger side window missing window winder".

the power window switch was in the centre console, where they were factory fitted. i showed her this, and showed that they went up and down, but she refused to remove it from the ticket.

one other on the same ticket was "drivers door handle doesn't work", because the first time she tried it the door was locked. i unlocked it, and it worked fine the 2nd time she tested it...

i cant find the "epic fail" icon that this cop so deserves

3 + 4 = ironic.

to point 1, no plead. your guilty until PROVEN innocent with traffic offences.

Point 2. yes i did. they said they'd investigate... nothing came of it.
