I've got a GQ coil cab ute and want a smoother ride... since I have had the truck it's quite rough/bumpy on and offroad. I'm not sure what type of springs & shocks are in it, or what rating they are. I have a feeling they came out of a wagon prior to being in my truck. The only info I can give is that it has a 6inch lift with 3rds arm in the front.

What combo of springs and shock do you guys run for a nice smooth ride. I don't carry much weight on the rear as it is only used for weekend basher/comp car, so not overly concerned about rear load rating apart from tray/fuel/spare and a few tools etc.

mate i think you answered your own question then but anyways for a softride go with soft springs i run dobinson soft coils and procomp shocks the shocks are soft and almost floaty (perfect off road ) but still control even without sway bars when carrying wait it gets a little saggy but the rest of the time perfect .. if you really want it more like a standard ride fit drop boxes this will bring the control arm back down to the standard angle so that the movment is more up n down rather then forward up n down..

Agreed, but you have to get the right Dobinsons coils.

If you are changing both coils and shocks you may aswell get my 4-5" flexy coils so you can run extra long Procomp shocks for decent flex. These coils are quite soft. I am getting in some heavier duty flex coils for those who have an uneven load.

Cheers
Shane
