The rules for most events (CCDA winch challenges, NavRuns etc) say the driver (and in some case navigator as well) must be licenced, a Lerner's Permit isnt a licence (it's a permit) so Id say that would count you out unfortunantly. But for club ran events they might have differant rules, for example I think you can do mud racing in victoria from as young as 12 years old.

Had a similar situation at Cityview last year.... in Qld at least the learners is a licence, just with extra conditions... so the navvy had to stay in the car and be eligible under the road transport management act to supervise a learner driver..

Of course, that doesn't mean that organisers at different events can't run a higher competency requirement (ie open licence).

does anyone else have anything to add on this???

i guess it's a very interesting question and i'm sure there is plenty of others including myself that would like to know what different comp managers thoughts were on it....

can it happen in qld comps???
if yes...how would it work? would the navi need to be in the car throughout the stage and only get out during winching ect.

or would that be classed as driving without a licenced supervisor......

come on ppl add your thoughts... Smile

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Xtreme 4X4 Sport events require a full licence (P licence is acceptable).

If you are 15 in the year of competition you then can be a co-driver (winch person) only.
