I am thinking about putting a turbo on my cruiser. Its a '96 HZJ75 with 153000 on the clock. just wondering if the engine is too old and/or too many k's. also should I put an intercooler onto it aswell

I am about to fit a turbo to my eighty series with 300 000 k's. From what I can find out the main thing to watch out for is that if you get someone to fit it for you that they don't try and talk you into high boost (above 8psi) as this increases exhaust temp which leeds to engine detonation( the big bang theory). Exhaust temps of about 500 - 550 deg should be the optimum. I am not an expert so take this as advice only. Do your research and ask lots of questions, then make your choice. I am fitting mine myself and am making the parts up also. I am still sourcing the parts and hope to install in less than a day.
Cheers david
