I'm currently running OME shocks on the front of my GQ wagon and procomps on the back. Besides being too short i feel that the OME's are too soft with a steel bar and winch. Are the procomps any firmer?

Anyone run procomps in the front (roughly 4" lift)? How are they? Are the procomps any firmer than ome's?
What do they cost these days??

Cheers

James

I can't really compare mine against OME, but i dont run a front bar (yet), and find the ProComps just fine. They seem to work well in all conditions, but again, its a bit hard for me to compare as i also have really soft springs and no sway bars. I dont have drop boxes or dropped radius arms yet either Embarassed , dont have the $$$ atm unfortunately.

I can't really compare either but I am thinking your OME shocks might be stuffed. I find the Procomps soft myself but that is what I like. I am a comfort freak.

For a bit more control you would be better off with Lovells up front. Having said that, if you wanted to match front and rear then Lovells won't help on the rear.

I would then recommend EFS Extreme shocks for more control. pm for a price. If they were not the best length to suit your needs, Tough Dogs might then work for you but at double the price of the Procomps you might reconsider the Procomps.

i run procomps to suit a 3inch lift in a swb with steel bars on both ends, a winch, storage draws and all the other normal gear. Im happy as a pig in shit. Pro comps are cheap ive done 30000 hard kms on them without breaking them and have only been able to get them to fade once, but that was on some high speed corragations that went for about 5km. Had 2 other cars on that trip one with konis and one with ome ltr's and they both got fade over the same section as well.

I forgot to mention. Dobinson will give you a lot more control but a lot of people think they are too firm. Either way, I stock the Procomps, Dobinsons, Lovells and EFS Extremes.

Personally I'd go the Dobi's but try the Ride-Pro Rox from Ateco in Melbourne.
