where ya went wrong was in being nasty in your complaint. I complained to Hungry Jacks about their crappy lids for the cups that spilt all over the front seats of the wifes car and they rang me and offered me a free meal for the family (4 meals) to be had at any time from the store i complained about. cost them $26 for their stuff up.

yep

Some kid being paid $5 an hour doesn't give a crap if your burgers are wrong, as if they aren't embarassed enough already to be there. I find if you're cool with them they'll usually give you a heap of free stuff because of the same thing - they don't care.

Also, good practice to avoid having your food spat in.

my missus is a manager at KFC (only works PT now because of the kids) and has been working for them for 8 1/2 years

the biggest problem Bruce is that for every person who genuinely gets an order stuffed up there is three others who will try and ring up just to get free food..happens all the time..makes it hard for the managers to want to help you..

the other problem is that 99.9999% of the kids who work there dont want to be there..they are told to work by their parents who dont want to pay them pocket money anymore..

Anyway pocket money was a few coins in the pocket (for mowing the lawn or whatever) If I wanted to save up for something substantial I had to get a job.

When I was young there really were not that many fast food joints to find work at. My jobs included milkrun (not around anymore) paperrun (likewise) pizza driver, labourer, etc. I.e. I had more choice that it seems back then, before stooping to a maccas or Coles jobs.

i had an order stuffed up 1 night(KFC) , on 1/2 hour meal break !
got back to work , something was missing , rang the store & they said you can come & get the missing order ,
told them i didnt have time
so the manager took my details & 2 weeks later got a letter from them with a $15 voucher !! Very Happy

Having said that, the conditions staff and managers put up with is incredible. When I was managing in FF we had crap pays, I had countless people throw food at me and my staff, probably just as many verbally abuse me/my staff and threaten me, I don't blame managers and staff for not caring anymore. I've lost count of the times I had to call the police, or even kick customers out. I had one staff member come into the office crying one day. I went out the front to see what was going on and there was a group of guys about 20ish y.o. who thought it was funny to tell the staff that they were going to come to her house and kill her.

We were paid for a 40 hour week and expected to put in at least an hour unpaid overtime each day and usually it ended up being much more than that.

I had a really good bunch of crew that genuinely would try to help people, only to have smart ar$es think it was funny to yell and throw food.

FYI, most FF stores have an IOU book.

Oh and here's a hint. Speak to the manager when there's a stuff up. Try to stay calm. If you're not happy after that, go to head office. There's no need to yell and scream.

the problem i have found is that the increase in dirty unbathed curry munchers behind the counter is in direct proportion to the amount of stuff ups made with your order.

I swear at brookvale 9 times out of 10 i end up driving str8 to the window aafter tryingto place a simple order and basically spell it out in calcautta english so they understand whayt a large three piece feed is its not that hard.

THey did have a white girl on the wondow on sunday and it was the best experieence ive had there.

the local KFC used to do that from about 9pm onwards because they would close at 10. they just didnt want to serve anyone so they could all pack up and go home early Rolling Eyes

after it happend a few times i rang up their direct number and asked for the area managers number and spoke to her. explained to her the situation and suggested the manager order more food to prevent them "running out" all the time.
it didnt happen anymore armsup

but they still stuffed every order Mad

the last time i went to that store and they stuffed up my order (about $20 worth)
i had to drive all the way back there and spoke to the shift supervisor and asked for my order to be remade fresh and complete, and also a full refund.
at first she didnt want to do it and pretended she couldnt refund me the money. so i asked for her managers name and said i was going to make a CSH complaint... register is open within seconds and i have my refund armsup

i worked for pizza hut at the time (same company) so i knew what they can and cant do and a CSH complaint is the last thing any store wants to get.

you will find that the store is probably a franchise so they tend to only employ their "own people"

the maccas fairfield is run by 90% asians
the kfc fairfield, 90% middle eastern
the pizza hut fairfield heights, 100% retards
the pizza hut morebank indain

its better and cheaper for me to buy kfc from the store thats twice as far away if not more, than it is to buy from fairfield.
saves me two trips by going to the further one Laughing
