1. DEFINITIONS

“Should” means discretionary - room to move.
“Shall” means mandatory - no room to deviate from rule.
“Attempt” means a vehicle’s inability to progress over an obstacle that results in the vehicle having an unplanned loss of forward momentum.
“Track Marker” means a cones and/or delineators, bunting tape and/or paint
“Track” means a defined path of travel as indicated by track markers depicting the natural flow of the course
“Gate” means the position between two track markers placed a minimum of 3 metres apart and at a 90 degree angle to the track. Three metres is measured between the 2 closest points of the track markers.
“Obstacle” means anything within the boundary of the track.

2. GENERAL EVENT RULES

2.1. Protest Process
2.1.1. All protests shall be:
2.1.1.1. Lodged in writing.
2.1.1.2. Lodged on the official “Tough Tracks Protest Form”.
2.1.1.3. Lodged with in one hour of the cease of competition on that track for that day.
2.1.1.4. Protest forms are available from the Tough Tracks scoring tent for a NON REFUNDABLE fee of $20.
2.1.1.5. Witnesses shall be competitors and shall not be spectators.
2.2. Protest Committee/Group
2.2.1. Shall consist of a minimum of three or more people but shall be an odd number consisting of:
2.2.1.1. head course official or an independent official from trophy class;
2.2.1.2. head course official or independent official from challenge class;
2.2.1.3. driver’s representative from the protested class (who shall be a club member and designated prior to the event during Drivers’ briefing).
2.3. Registration Certificates
2.3.1. All competitors shall provide a copy of their current registration certificate upon request. Failure to do this shall result in that vehicle being unable to compete.
2.3.2. Engine and chassis/VIN numbers on the vehicle shall match the current registration certificate and / or current engineer’s certificate.
2.3.3. A vehicle may not be allowed to compete if the engine and/or chassis/VIN numbers do not match current registration certificate.

2.4. Head Protection
2.4.1. Driver – shall wear an approved helmet and meet Australian standards (AS1609) while competing.
2.4.2. Navigator – shall wear head protection, minimum standard of a pushbike helmet while competing.
2.5. High Visibility Clothing
2.5.1. Driver - green high visibility vest shall be worn by the driver ONLY when out of the vehicle while on track.
2.5.2. Navigator – green high visibility vest shall be worn by the navigator at all times while on track.
2.5.3. Official - orange high visibility vest with club logo shall be worn.
2.5.4. Media – high visibility vest shall be worn.
2.6. Gloves
2.6.1. Driver - gloves shall be worn by the driver ONLY when out of the vehicle while on track.
2.6.2. Navigator – gloves shall be worn by the navigator at all times while on track.
2.7. Competitor Safety Equipment
2.7.1. Seat belts and/or harnesses.
2.7.2. Window nets (refer Rule 4.6).
2.7.3. Helmets (refer to Rule 2.4).
2.7.4. High visibility vests (refer Rule 2.5).
2.7.5. Protective gloves (refer Rule 2.6).
2.7.6. To be checked by the starting official.
2.7.7. Ticked off on the score sheet prior to commencing/starting of competition on the track.
2.8. Recovery Straps or Ski Ropes
2.8.1 Ski Ropes shall not be used
2.8.2 Use of recovery straps will be considered as self recovery;
2.8.3 Self recovery shall mean cease of competition (refer Rule 3.2).
2.9. Driver Leaving Vehicle
2.9.1. Vehicle shall be turned off.
2.9.2. Handbrake shall be engaged.
2.9.3. Vehicle shall be in gear.
2.9.4. High visibility clothing and gloves shall be worn by driver (refer Rule 2.5.1).
2.10. Abusive or Offensive Language
2.10.1. 1st offence shall receive a warning.
2.10.2. 2nd offence shall result in no score for that track.
2.11. Touching of Moving Vehicles
2.11.1. 1st offence shall receive a warning.
2.11.2. 2nd offence shall result in no score for that track.
2.12. Outside Assistance
2.12.1. Cease of competition.
2.12.2. Any competitor who has given outside assistance shall forfeit all points awarded to them for that track.
2.12.3. This rule is void if the competitor has been requested to assist by the head track official.
2.13. Competitor or Official
2.13.1. You shall only be one or the other.
2.14. Officials
2.14.1. Minimum of three officials present on the track.
2.14.2. Additional officials may be used however they:
2.14.2.1. shall stay clear of the track unless requested to assist by the head track official;
2.14.2.2. may be used to assist with crowd control.
2.15. Persons on Track
2.15.1. No person is allowed beyond the bunting and/or track markers unless requested by the head track official.
2.15.2. This includes:
2.15.2.1. club members;
2.15.2.2. other competitors (NOTE – other competitors shall receive a DNF for that track);
2.15.2.3. spectators;
2.15.2.4. unofficial photographers;
2.15.2.5. officials assisting with crowd control.
2.16. Photographer/Media
2.16.1. Only appointed official photographers/media shall be permitted on the track.
2.16.2. Shall wear high visibility clothing (refer Rule 2.5.4).
2.17. Third Party Extension
2.17.1. Third Party Extensions are compulsory for all vehicles.
2.17.2. Competitors shall not be allowed to compete if they are unable to show their Third Party Extension.
2.17.3. Not required for vehicles registered in New South Wales however vehicles registered in NSW must provide a copy of there current registration certificate (refer Rule 2.3.1).
2.18. Sponsors
2.18.1. Shall be responsible for:
2.18.1.1. distribution of their own advertising to competitors;
2.18.1.2. placement and recovery of all their advertising banners.
2.19. Consumption of Alcohol
2.19.1. All competitors shall maintain a zero blood alcohol reading while competing.
2.19.2. Driver and navigator shall be breath tested prior to competing.
2.19.3. If a positive reading is achieved by either competitor they will be placed at the rear of the competition field and re tested prior to competing.
2.19.4. If either competitor or navigator produces a second positive reading then they shall not be allowed to compete on that track

3. SCORING

3.1. Scoring
3.1.1. Shall commence from when the vehicle crosses the start line until when the vehicle ceases competing.
3.1.2. The vehicle shall be capable of crossing the start line under its own power.
3.1.3. The vehicle must cross the start line to achieve a recordable score.
3.1.4. Scoring is from 0 to 1000 over the full length of the track being a percentage of the distance travelled from the start to the finish but only marked at specified obstacles.
3.1.5. The winner of the section shall be the competitor that achieves the furthest distance as defined by the scoring markers.
3.1.6. If two or more competitors achieve the same distance marker then the competitor with the least amount of penalty points will be deemed to have the highest placing.
3.1.7. Both complete rear tyres must be forward of a line between the centre of each scoring marker to achieve the score for those markers.
3.1.8. Three attempts only shall be allowed for each obstacle along the track (refer Rule 3.8).
3.1.9. If a competitor fails to proceed after the third attempt then their distance score shall be deemed to be the last scoring marker completely achieved.
3.1.10. Certain track conditions may allow “lining up” with no penalty subject to the discretion of the event director and communicated to the competitors by the Track Official.
3.2. Cease of Competing
3.2.1. When a vehicle’s rear wheels crosses the finish line.
3.2.2. When an official stops a vehicle from further competition.
3.2.3. Four wheels leave the track at any one time, that vehicle will cease competing at that point.
3.2.4. If a vehicle is unable to continue without outside assistance it shall leave the track immediately.
3.3. Rock Stacking
3.3.1. Maximum of 3 x 30 counts per track.
3.4. Unsportsmanlike Behaviour
3.4.1. 1st offence shall receive a warning.
3.4.2. 2nd offence shall result in no score for that track.
3.4.3. Shall be determined by the on track officials.
3.5. Track Markers
3.5.1. If touched, track markers shall be used as demerit points.
3.5.2. Signage shall not be considered as a part of the track marker.
3.5.3. If a track marker is touched more than once, that track marker in question shall only be used for demerit points once.
3.6. Signing Off of Score Sheets
3.6.1. Score sheets shall be signed off immediately after the cease of competition by either driver or navigator.
3.7. Penalty Points
3.7.1. Touch cone 200 points
3.7.2. Breaking bunting 200 points
3.7.3. Excessive wheel spin (altering track conditions without achieving forward or reverse momentum) 20 points
3.7.4. Stop 5 points
3.7.5. Reversing 5 points
3.7.6. Rock stacking (per 30 count) 5 points
3.7.7. Failure to carry designated equipment DNF (No Score)
3.7.8. Competitors on track while not competing (refer Rule 2.14) DNF (No Score)
3.7.9. Failure to follow the stage marshal’s instruction – competitor will be deemed to have finished their run from when instruction was given.
3.8. Attempts
3.8.1. A competitor may have three attempts at any part of the track.
3.8.2. If forward momentum is not achieved on the third attempt, the vehicle will be deemed to have ceased competition for that track.
3.8.3. If forward momentum is achieved prior to the three attempts, the attempt tally is cleared, thus allowing three attempts further along the track.
3.9. Bump Steering
3.9.1. No bump steering shall be allowed.
3.9.2. Penalty for bump steer shall be one stop penalty plus one reversing penalty for each bump steer.
3.9.3. Skid steer (front digs) shall not be allowed.

4. VEHICLE SPECIFICATIONS FOR ALL VEHICLES

4.1. Vehicle Registration
4.1.1. Vehicle must be registered for use on public roads and should be in a track worthy state. Roadworthy condition in respect of suspension lift and tyre size not required but must be constructed to proper engineering practice.
4.2. Windscreens
4.2.1. Shall be fitted during competition.
4.3. Rollover Protection/Roll Cages
4.3.1. Soft top or open top vehicles shall be fitted with a minimum of a four point roll cage.
4.3.2. Challenge class vehicles shall have rollover protection.
4.3.3. Cargo barriers not required but highly recommended.
4.4. Fire Extinguisher
4.4.1. Shall be a minimum 0.9kg (dry powder) to be fitted within easy reach of driver and passenger (or use two if it cannot be mounted in the middle of vehicle).
4.5. First Aid Kit
4.5.1. First aid kits shall be carried in vehicle while competing.
4.6. Window Nets
4.6.1. All vehicles shall have one fitted to the driver’s side window.
4.6.2. This window net shall be easily opened and/or removed to gain access from inside and/or outside of the vehicle and shall:
4.6.2.1. cover the entire height from top to bottom;
4.6.2.2. cover 75% of the window opening.
4.7. Tyres
4.7.1. Tyres may protrude from bodywork slightly being a total of 10% of the tyre width as specified on the side wall of the tyre – i.e. must be substantially covered.
4.7.2. Each vehicle shall carry a spare wheel/tyre and the suitable equipment required to replace a damaged tyre/wheel on the track being:
4.7.2.1. tyre suitable to enable the vehicle to be removed or driven from the track;
4.7.2.2. suitable jack;
4.7.2.3. jacking plate;
4.7.2.4. wheel brace or suitable equipment;
4.7.3. Tyres shall not be agricultural type tyres.
4.8. Recovery
4.8.1. Recovery points
4.8.1.1. minimum of two rated recovery points fitted one to rear and one to the front of the vehicle;
4.8.1.2. shall be RED in colour – except where the vehicles’ bars or mounting points are red – in which case recovery points shall be painted in a contrasting colour.
4.8.2. Recovery equipment - minimum requirements
4.8.2.1. one snatch strap;
4.8.2.2. two rated shackles equal to 1.5 times the vehicle mass (vehicle mass as per the manufacturers plating).
4.9. Loose Equipment in Vehicle
4.9.1. There shall be no loose items in or on the vehicle upon starting the track.
4.9.2. In the event of equipment becoming loose during the event, this equipment shall be immediately secured.
4.10. Vehicle Doors
4.10.1. All vehicles shall run doors.
4.10.2. Intrusion bar shall not be altered in any model vehicle that has them fitted as standard.
4.10.3. ‘Cut-down Doors’ are not allowed.
4.11. Battery Isolator
4.11.1. Shall isolate the battery, fuel pump and stop the engine.
4.11.2. Shall be operational from the outside of the vehicle.
4.11.3. Shall be identified by a blue triangle with a lightening flash.
4.11.4. May isolate the negative terminal.

5. TROPHY CLASS VEHICLE SPECIFICATIONS

5.1. Tyres
5.1.1. Tyre sizes shall be limited to 33” or metric equivalent based on sidewall marking
5.2. Wheels
5.2.1. Wheel options are unlimited, except that tyres shall be mostly enclosed within the width of mudguards and flares (refer rule 4.7.1).
5.2.2. Bead locks are allowed.
5.2.3. Wheel spacers shall not be allowed.
5.2.4. Flipped or custom rims shall not be allowed.
5.3. Axles and Hubs
5.3.1. Axle housings shall be the original equipment for that make of vehicle except that they may be strengthened and protected.
5.3.2. Axle internal components shall be original except that extension breathers may be fitted.
5.3.3. Hubs are free except that drop axles and reduction hubs shall not be fitted.
5.3.4. Axle housing upgrades or swaps shall not be allowed.
5.4. Brakes
5.4.1. The braking system may be modified provided that the braking performance of the vehicle meets or exceeds the vehicle’s original braking performance.
5.4.2. The composition of the brake pads/linings is free.
5.4.3. A secondary or emergency braking system shall be fitted and shall be operational.
5.4.4. Air operated hand brakes shall not be an emergency brake.
5.4.5. Brake upgrades shall be DOT plated.
5.5. Differentials
5.5.1. The differential system for that make of vehicle shall be retained unmodified except that differential locks may not be used.
5.5.2. Differentials may be strengthened.
5.5.3. Differential ratios are free.
5.5.4. Shimmed up differentials shall not be altered to greater than manufactures’ specifications.
5.5.5. Vehicles shall not compete with a Limited Slip Differential installed in the front differential housing.
5.6. Gearbox
5.6.1. Gearboxes may be strengthened and protected and they may be replaced by an automatic or manual gearbox from another make of vehicle.
5.6.2. Gearbox ratios are free.
5.6.3. Shall be operative and capable of driving in forward and reverse directions.
5.6.4. Gearbox upgrades shall be DOT plated.
5.7. Transfer Case
5.7.1. The transfer case system for that make of vehicle shall be retained except that it may be modified.
5.7.2. Transfer case ratios are free.
5.7.3. The transfer case and differentials shall be operative and capable of driving all four wheels, in forward and reverse directions.
5.7.4. No dual transfer cases
5.8. Steering
5.8.1. Steering boxes are free but shall be retained in the original location securely fastened to the chassis.
5.8.2. Steering linkages and components are free and may have protection fitted to them.
5.8.3. Non standard factory hydraulic assisted steering shall not be used.
5.8.4. Full hydro steering shall not be used.
5.8.5. Steering arm configuration shall not be altered from manufactures setup and settings.
5.8.6. Steering arm may be strengthened.
5.8.7. All steering upgrades shall be DOT approved.
5.9. Suspension
5.9.1. Selection of shock absorbers and bushes is free including number and location.
5.9.2. The original spring configuration and position on the chassis shall be retained except that it may be modified or replaced with similar after market units.
5.9.3. Total lift of springs plus body shall not exceed 100mm.
5.9.4. Control arm configuration shall be retained including arm length and mounting points but may be strengthened.
5.9.5. The axle position of the original vehicle chassis shall be retained within 50mm of its original location to retain substantially the same wheelbase.
5.9.6. Removal/Installation of components, other than swaybars, to enhance performance during competition shall NOT be allowed.
5.9.7. Drop shackles shall not be allowed.
5.9.8. Coil over suspension shall not be allowed (unless OE).
5.9.9. Unsupported air suspension shall not be allowed.
5.9.10. Hydraulic suspension shall not be allowed.
5.10. Engine
5.10.1. Any replacement engine is permissible.
5.10.2. Engine management systems are free.
5.10.3. Snorkels and after market air filters are free.
5.10.4. Oil filters are free except the original method of attachment shall be retained.
5.10.5. Engine swaps or upgrades shall have the relevant DOT plates and be reflected on the registration certificate (refer Rule 2.3.2 and 2.3.3).
5.11. Electrical
5.11.1. For the battery that provides power to the engine, ignition and fuel pump, a mechanical isolation switch shall be securely mounted within easy reach of any member of the crew or course official, but shall be able to be activated externally. This switch may isolate the negative terminal (refer Rule 4.11).
5.11.2. Alternators are free.
5.11.3. Headlight inserts and globes are free.
5.11.4. Tail lights, stop lights and reversing lights are free but shall be fitted and operational.
5.12. Exhaust Systems
5.12.1. Shall have a muffling system fitted.
5.13. Chassis
5.13.1. The original chassis for that make of vehicle shall be retained and shall remain substantially unmodified.
5.13.2. Strengthening with the additional bracing is acceptable.
5.13.3. Spring and shock absorber mountings may be strengthened.
5.13.4. Protection plates may be added for strengthening and protection purposes.
5.13.5. Chassis VIN numbers shall match the registration certificate (refer Rule 2.3.2 and 2.3.3).
5.14. Body
5.14.1. The body of the make of the vehicle shall be readily recognised and shall be the same manufacturer as the chassis.
5.14.2. The combination of body and chassis may be updated with body and chassis elements from later models of the same make of vehicle.
5.14.3. Body alterations shall be permissible to a maximum of 50 % of the side profile of the original make of vehicle regardless of model.
5.14.4. The determination of the 50 % is based on an area being the portion of the side view that is added or removed from the total area determined by the rectangle of the extreme forward and rearward points, the roof and the ground of the original vehicle.
5.14.5. Body lifts shall be limited to 50mm and shall be completed in a safe and secure manner and the spacers shall be a non crushable material and the bolts shall be the same diameter as the original body mounting bolts and at least Grade 8. There shall be the same number of body mounts and supports as the original chassis and body combination.
5.14.6. Additional mudguards, flares and doorsills may be added for protection.
5.14.7. Body chops shall be DOT plated.
5.15. Lights
5.15.1. Vehicles may be fitted with any number of driving lights in addition to the original headlights and driving lights.
5.15.2. Driving lights shall operate with the high/low beam switch in conjunction with the headlights and shall be fitted in accordance with relevant registration requirements.
5.15.3. It is strongly recommended that a dust lamp be fitted to the rear of the vehicle.
5.16. Fuel
5.16.1. The original fuel system shall be retained and shall be in a sound condition with all fittings tightly fastened.
5.16.2. Alternative fuel such as LPG may be fitted in accordance with State and National Regulations.
6. CHALLENGE CLASS VEHICLE SPECIFICATIONS

6.1. Tyres
6.1.1. Tyre sizes shall be limited to 38.5” or metric equivalent based on sidewall marking.
6.2. Wheels
6.2.1. Wheel options are unlimited except that tyres shall be mostly enclosed within the width of mudguards and flares (refer Rule 4.7.1).
6.2.2. Bead locks are allowed.
6.2.3. Wheel spacers shall be no larger than 50mm.
6.2.4. Custom offset or flipped rims – the wheel centres shall be constructed of one continuous piece of steel and professionally manufactured.
6.3. Axles and Hubs
6.3.1. Axle housings are free.
6.3.2. Axle internal components are free.
6.3.3. Hubs are free.
6.3.4. Portal axles or drop hubs and reduction hubs are not allowed.
6.3.5. Axle housing up grades shall be DOT plated.
6.4. Brakes
6.4.1. The braking system may be modified provided that the braking performance of the vehicle meets or exceeds the vehicle’s original braking performance.
6.4.2. The composition of the brake pads/linings is free.
6.4.3. A secondary or emergency braking system shall be fitted and shall be operational.
6.4.4. Air operated hand brakes shall not be an emergency brake.
6.4.5. Brake upgrades shall be DOT plated.
6.5. Differentials
6.5.1. The differential system is free.
6.5.2. Differentials may be modified and strengthened.
6.5.3. Differential ratios are free.
6.6. Gearbox
6.6.1. The gearbox options are open.
6.6.2. Shall be operative and capable of driving in forward and reverse directions.
6.6.3. Gearbox upgrades shall be DOT plated.
6.7. Transfer Case
6.7.1. The transfer case system is free.
6.7.2. Transfer case ratios are free.
6.7.3. The transfer case and differentials shall be operative and capable of driving all four wheels in forward and reverse directions.
6.7.4. Dual transfers case shall be DOT plate.
6.8. Steering
6.8.1. Steering boxes are free but shall be retained in the original location securely fastened to the chassis.
6.8.2. Steering linkages and components are free and may have protection fitted to them.
6.8.3. Non standard factory hydraulic assisted steering shall not be used.
6.8.4. All vehicles shall have manufacturer’s steering system design (eg mechanical steering column shall not be changed to motor driven steering box).
6.8.5. Full hydro steering shall not be used.
6.8.6. Steering up grades shall be DOT plated.
6.9. Suspension
6.9.1. Selection of shock absorbers and bushes is free including number and location.
6.9.2. The spring configuration and position on the chassis is free.
6.9.3. Control arm configuration is free including arm length and mounting points.
6.9.4. Suspension mounting points may be strengthened.
6.9.5. The axle position is free.
6.9.6. Coilover suspension shall not be used.
6.9.7. Unsupported air suspension shall not be used.
6.9.8. Hydraulic suspension shall not be used.
6.10. Engine
6.10.1. Any replacement engine is permissible.
6.10.2. Engine management systems are free.
6.10.3. Snorkels and after market air filters are free.
6.10.4. Oil filters are free except the original method of attachment shall be retained.
6.10.5. Engine swaps or upgrades shall have the relevant DOT plates and be reflected on the registration certificate (refer Rule 2.3.2 and 2.3.3).
6.11. Electrical
6.11.1. For the battery that provides power to the engine, ignition and fuel pump, a mechanical isolation switch shall be securely mounted within easy reach of any member of the crew or course official, but shall be able to be activated externally. This switch may isolate the negative terminal (refer Rule 4.11).
6.11.2. Alternators are free.
6.11.3. Headlight inserts and globes are free.
6.11.4. Tail lights, stop lights and reversing lights are free but shall be fitted and operational.
6.12. Exhaust Systems
6.12.1. Shall have a muffling system fitted.
6.13. Chassis
6.13.1. The original chassis for that make of vehicle shall be used.
6.13.2. Strengthening with the additional bracing is acceptable.
6.13.3. Spring and shock absorber mountings may be strengthened.
6.13.4. Protection plates may be added for strengthening and protection purposes.
6.13.5. Chassis can be modified.
6.13.6. Chassis VIN numbers shall match the registration certificate (refer Rule 2.3.2 and 2.3.3).
6.14. Body
6.14.1. The body of the make of the vehicle shall be readily recognised and shall be the same manufacturer as the chassis.
6.14.2. The combination of body and chassis may be updated with body and chassis elements from later models of the same make of vehicle.
6.14.3. Body alterations are permissible to a maximum of 50% of the side profile of the original make of vehicle regardless of model.
6.14.4. The determination of the 50% is based on an area being the portion of the side view that is added or removed from the total area determined by the rectangle of the extreme forward and rearward points, the roof and the ground of the original vehicle.
6.14.5. Body lifts shall be limited to 50mm and shall be completed in a safe and secure manner and the spacers shall be a non-crushable material and the bolts shall be the same diameter as the original body mounting bolts and at least Grade 8. There shall be the same number of body mounts and supports as the original chassis and body combination.
6.14.6. Additional mudguards flares and doorsills may be added for protection.
6.14.7. Body chops shall be DOT plated.
6.15. Lights
6.15.1. Vehicles may be fitted with any number of driving lights in addition to the original headlights and driving lights.
6.15.2. Driving lights shall operate with the high/low beam switch in conjunction with the headlights and shall be fitted in accordance with relevant registration requirements.
6.15.3. It is strongly recommended that a dust lamp be fitted to the rear of the vehicle.
6.16. Fuel
6.16.1. The fuel system is free but shall be in a sound condition with all fittings tightly fastened.
6.16.2. Alternative fuel such as LPG may be fitted in accordance with State and National Regulations.

Get it scrutineered beforehand or at least call Peter and talk to him about your car. No one wants to wait around on Saturday morning for you to be scrutineered as there is no time set aside specifically for scrutineering.

so im just trying to get my third party extension worked out.i was told that u just ring up your ctp insurer and they sort the extension for u there n then for free. can someone tell me if this is in fact true? because my insurer is telling me its gonna cost me $10 per day and i have to organise it each time i compete. or is this standard practise? forgive my ignorance, any help would be appreciated.

Hell again to all.

It is difficult at times to write rules. What you think is straight forward and understandable can be interpreted in different ways by people who were not involved with the original discussion. This means that sometimes the rules have to be clarified - just as Linc has suggested.

So time for some clarity:-

1. Hydro assist IS allowed provided that it is DOT Approved. Full hydro IS NOT allowed.

2. High steer conversions are allowed provided, again, that it is blue plated. I have included this one because rule 6.8.1 says that steering boxes shall be retained in the original location - so before anyone queeries this one - High Steer IS allowed.

The intention of the rules was not to exclude these modifications. I can see how the rules relating to steering can be confusing so we will try to re-write them more clearly.

Darren - we DO NOT make up the rules as we go. That is why we went to so much trouble to detail the rules before the last round. However rules are never going to suit every situation. At that point the committee will have to make a decision which will then result in the rules being updated.

But we are not relaxing any rules. The same rules apply this round as they did in round 3 2007. The same people are even enforcing and, where necessary, clarifying the rules. Nothing has changed.

We, as members of the committee, have stepped up and taken on the roles to run this event. We keep on saying that anyone who would like to be part of the decision making process should join the club (if not already a member) and nominate for a position.

There are quite a few new and existing competitors signing up for round 1 and I am looking foreward to catching up with everyone at Janowen. This is a club event and is meant to be fun - let's keep it that way.

Yeah over it Ben...........I think its how the person on the day interpurits the rule.... But no sleep lost ....

I was told its all about 3rd party.. fair enough .. however I dont think ANY of the cars would comply if there was a serious accident and they looked closly at the cars..... Come on . you dont evenhave to look too close at all... 6'' lift 37''s they are only kidding them selves....
