Hi Trendsetters,
I have 3 questions today,
1/ where can I buy 2.2 scale accessories for my lil truck, like hi lift jacks, jerry cans, extinguishers etc?
2/ does anyone sell 2.2 scale working winches for rc crawlers?
3/ I see plenty of electric rc crawlers on youtube driving in mud and water, some fully submerged, and they keep going. How do they do this? How can elec motors work underwater, let alone ESCs and receivers etc?
One bloke claims that no electronics were protected or harmed when his wheely king went fully underwater.
Thanks. |

for your scale items, google MONTANA SCALE DESIGNS.
also have a look on www.rccrawler.com for the rest of the items and info. |

X 2 on what davway said for the scale stuff or hit ebay.
As for the motors, I have heard that some of the fast track racers actually submerge their motors when running them in. The ESC and RX unit all you need to do is throw them into a latex glove and zip tie the ends with a bit of grease or something to keep the water out, then it should be all good, same deal for the servos too. |

Thanks guys.
I'll post some pics when it's finished. So far it has a scale c section chassis, lots of tube work, a working winch and some other cool bits I've fabbed up.
Stay tuned. |

simple, electric motors will run underwater, and as for the esc some use waterproof ones, u can get them at most hobby stores. as for the servos, either dip them in liquid electrical tape (the black rubbery stuff that dries and seals) or silicone the base shut and grease around the horn heaps.
if running an esc in a balloon or condom make sure it doesnt over heat and blow.
keep the battery in good condition and keep it shrink wrapped well as well.
this is what i have learnt thought it might help. |

I run my truck's in water all the time .
Motors you run in, in a glass of water, but some of the top racers use Coke , make sure you blow them out with air after the dunking.
Condoms work the best for you're ESC, and reciever, just try to get unlubed ones, cause they are slippery suckers , or a small tupperware container or chinese food containers work well too, and you don't have to explain to wife "i'm only borrowing it" .
Servo's are sort of water proof any way so i've never done any thing more than bolt them in .
As far as scale accesories go the sites that have been posted have a good range, or look in the toy section of super markets, as they have these as well sometimes.
