Do you have a bodylift, or tension on the stick from the shift boot? A bodylift increases the arc of travel for the stick, and the boots can put more tension on the stick, causing problems like you have - jumping out of some gears. |

Sometimes the tension on 3rd detent ball needs to be increased due to wear or play in bearings.
Remove corresponding plug and put a 1mm washer under spring

Things to check/ replace....
1/ Excessive play in shifter
tighten shifter collar or replace shifter
2/ Weak/broken dent springs/balls/interlock pins
replace parts.... usually in g/box top cover.
3/ Worn syncro...
rebuild G/box
4/ Laygear float...
rebuild G/box
5/ Worn input or main shaft bearings
rebuild G/box
6/ Worn selector ( top cover )
Replace top cover
I have a spare 4 spd box that has just been fullyrebuilt if ya desperate
