not a viable option. different rail widths, they hang out the side and sit about 120mm forward of where they need to be. I used a Frontera bar which didnt bolt straight on but required less mods |

Sorry for digging up this thread, but my '96 Fronty had a bar already fitted when I got it... and it looks to me it's a Rodeo unit. Below the grille, there is a relief for the drop down section Rodeos have.... Or, it's built for the Mu, with the Rodeo grille...
Dunno, but there is some sort of cross pollination going on here.... |

Both the rodeo and MU came with the drop down grill. A MU bar is slightly wider than the rodeo one |

Dunno if this is a Rodeo or Mu bar, but the inside profile doesn't match the Frontera plastic.

Nope, no problem, I was just commenting on the existence of a multi-fit bar ..... (and hoping someone could identify the manufacturer - for no other reason than I like to know).
As for soft tops.... If the garage was high enough for me to park it securely, I'd be unbolting that roof. |

I would say it's for a Frontera or MU. The MU on the left has a Rodeo bar the one on the right is a MU one. If you look where the bar ends the Rodeo one is not wide enough

Yeah, very true. The whole pumped guard thing leaves the Rodeo unit a bit short. |
