You won't have any fitting problems at all (they won't scrape the guards), though you may have to stick with 16" rims for brake clearance (don't quote me though) |

only the 4.8's have the biger calipers that can only run 16"
I fit Q78 Swampers with a TJM Series 2000 Heavy Duty 50mm Lift
33's will hit the inner guard on full artic at the rear....Slightly lowering the bumper stop will help there.

Apparently the new Turbo intercooled 4.2 Diesel also has the bigger brakes. |

I run 35" on my GU SIMEX & A/T & have room for more no probs, the only part touching are inside the front mudflaps but you will loose them soon anyway. Get 34 or 35 's cos you can camp under GU guards. |

what about fitting 33" BFG muds to a Maverick SWB. i am running some kind of koni suspension which has something to do with the factory or something i have heard. i dont really know, i have had the car for 6 weeks and it has a koni badge on the back of it under the number plate. i was thinking of fitting a 2" body lift to it soon but would i have to do any modifications to the brake lines or anything? All your help would be greatly appreciated. if you want PM me casue it will be easier or email, but include a subject.
Thanks
Peter

If someone has a rear Disc Diff housing for a GQ please let me know. I took my 35's off as I didn't feel comfortable with the brakes on my very old drum rear DX GQ.
I have a well maintained drum brake rear end, so maybe if someone in the northern rivers of NSW is selling a GQ they may like to let me do a swap??????? |

Hey,
i thought someone else said that idea about the koni becasue someone said a factory replacement option or something. oh well. here is a pic of the travel i have now with it. i am running 31" BFG AT but next tyres will be muds, i was hoping 33" BFG muds. Rear diff lock getting installed this friday by ARB (sweet). hopefully it will go harder. Wednesday i am going to a tyre shop to ask about the mud terrains and see what kinda work needs to be done for 33" but i dont know how helpful they will be. |

I have a set of 33 x 10.50 BFG MTs under my GQ lwb with a 3" Dobinson lift. No touching anywhere sits at a nice heoght and the tyres tuck in nicely. I go t the lift more for the fact the stock springs were shagged |

I put 33 by 12.5 on my gq shorty last weekend and they rub. On full lock and on the slightist articulation. Havent been game to take it off any more than a gutter fraid I will tear something off. Can some one tell me who makes those spring spaces for the life of me I can't find my accesserys guide. And how many problems with body lifting GQs? |

A body lift on a GQ is fairly straightforward, you just gotta be thorough. http://www.gqpatrol.com/ has some tech on this. |
