Hey, I thought, yeah, 85 Pajero Wagon, puddle, fun..

Drove through this big puddle and got the car wet, kids loved it, I enjoyed it, missus does not know..

Driving down the highway it spits and splutters, yeah right, just needs a bit of a run to dry out..

Pull at chemist for the missus, start to start the car, bang, back fire in big way, great, yeah, blow out the muffler, oh well, her car, she pay for damage..

Dry out dizzy, muffler under car still, bit noisy..

Electrics start to play up, tail lights and also brake lights, back door lock keeps clicking when I put foot on brake.

Split in muffler facing wiring loom at kinda melted it, also facing one side hand brake cable, need to fix wiring loom and also replace hand brake cable..

and I thought it was a 4X4..

At least my Toyota likes water.

Flames below please..

Thats OK, flames are most welcome, Toyota was at home because I had 3 kids with me, toyota only carries 3 people in total.

Yes and unfortunately, currently the toyota only drives on bitumen cause I don't have time for anything else.

The puddle was on the side of the bitumen, you know, inside corner.

Oh well, Missus picking muffler up today, I will fix on weekend.

You know, I reckon the Pajero has been the best car we have ever had as a family car.

Pshhhhh... I bet it was only a tiny puddle too.

You got a bad seed there, my genII is door handle deep occasionally. And when I say occasionaly, I mean monthly atleast.

Yep your damn unlucky I've had mine submerged over the wiper blades for at least 5 or so secs crossing a swollen river in the high country after the snow thaws. No problem at all but I had a snorkel and tarped the front and WD40 the crappers out of everything electrical.
If you go ploughing into water/mud without the proper preparation you are asking for trouble doesn't matter what brand of 4x4 it is.................

But especially if it is Jeep Grand Cherokee. Given the luck"bad design" it showed in 4WD of the year test done by 4wd Monthly magazine.

Fixed muffler, replaced burnt part of wiring loom, kids told missus about the puddle, I am in trouble big time..

Still have problems, fuel gauge seems to be out of whack, seems to need adjusting?? any takers here??

Also tail lights will not work, no power to fuse, checked both sides with the fuse in and out, is there something else where that I need to check, everything else is OK.

Around 4-5 hundred Ks to the tank here I think, can't afford to have her run out, shit, balls would roll.

On the good side of it, she is now looking more favorably at a 80s series wagon..
