maybe drill the holes out or swap the flange on the diff could be easier. |

Is this on a 60series?
If so I had the same problem with the bolts not lining up. Buy a new uni from repco for 40 bucks. remove the 4 surclips and then bash it out with a socket and a hammer in a vice. I had heaps of trouble mucking around with presses etc trying to do it in the end i was at a mates dads work and his mechanic did it for me in less than 40 minutes with a smoko break as well by just hitting it in the right places. |

As monty said. I did mine recently with just a screwdriver and a ball pein hammer, and you know I'm not ruff
You can also use a pitman arm puller and a socket, there wont be too much tension on the bearing caps - they will press out pretty easy.
just get out the vernier and check the flanges and cap sizes - if it matches - bolt it up!
Otherwise, you could redrill the diff flange if the hole centres are different, or oversize the holes if they are the same centre (I think the gen 1 shafts are 8mm bolts - the gen 2 are 10mm bolts) |
