Hey guy just abit of info on the Rangie Spares 30% extra articulation kit.

After carful thinking and pondering I have come to a conclusion that the RS adjustable front shock mounts SUCK..........
Better off buying your shocks and getting a turret extended to the required length..........

Anyone want to buy them from me ? ? ? Confused

Not to be noking all there gear but as one off the first purchases of there 30% extra bullshit kit it wasnt very well designed. I think the shock kickers and rear traling arm kickers made a good difference and the Aframe spacer is ok (not great) but all the adjustable stuff I dont really like.

Sorry just think it need alot more work and consideration....... maybe I shouldnt have rushed into it Confused owell...... beggers cant be choosers! Rolling Eyes

hmmmm

picking my car up on thursday Andrew has installed the 30% kit so far without any problems. Very Happy

I went in and saw it on friday and it all looks fine to me, Andrew has put a lot of R n D into the kit and IMHO everything else on the market dosn't seem as stong and well engineered.

I have purchased the new Bielstiens from Andrew and they are a few inches longer then std Bielstien shocks.

If your shocks are too short then the kit is useless to you. The Finger

I will be testing the kit this weekend and will post my results next week. Confused

Yeah i got the longer travel bilsteins aswell.

I remembered someone was getting the kit installed just wasnt sure who.
If you take note of the chassis braket for the upper rear adjustable shock mount none of the upper hole lined up at all.
I got my uncle to tac welds in between them and the edges (so i guess thats stuck there now).

Are you using your own brake line extensions or theres cause if your using theres I think there still to short, I flexed the back end drivers side down as far as it would go and the rear brake line was holding most of the wait (I mentioned this to Andrew he mentioned to bend the brackets for the line to face eachother).

I spoke with Andrew in regards to the entire kit and he too felt the front Adjustable shock assembly could be better and after this batch will be changing the design.

I dont want everyone thinking that I am saying to steer clear of RS as I will be purchasing many more things from them in the next few months.
And all round the kit is gonna do its job and add the extra articulation, but for the price I paid (dont know what you deal was mickrangie) I am not happy with what I got, and could have been done much cheaper.

But anyways its a start and its gonna be better than before.
Keen to see the pics of your RR mickrangie and also what size tyre are you running on what sorta rim, and if they are scrubing on the front shock adjustment at all. Very Happy

OVER AND OUT

Yeah same fing on mine andrew had to elongate the holes (going to be fixed for all other kits)

My model rangie had air sus and abs so my brake lines dont really need the extensions but andrew is going to fit them anyway.

Andrew is using my car to write up the instructions for the kit and I go 4wding every other weekend so I should be a good test for it.

I run 2 different sets of tyres -

1 - BridgeStone 285 x 85 x 16 on reveresed and off set disco rims (95mm)

2 - Simex ET's 35 x 10.5 x 16 on reveresed and off set disco rims (95mm)

my concern is the rear more then the front but a little scrubbing aint that bad IMHO..

Mick

no Anthony.....you dont just reverse the rim.....
you have to get the centres turned around... to do this the small welds need to be grinded off and the centre re-welded....

if you keep your eyes and ears open, Disco rims can be had for $30 - $50 each...
getting them flipped... another $40 - $60 each
so you would be looking at,
worst case $110 - $150 each...
best case $70 - $100 each

That is not expensive IMO.
