the Weirdos Acting Nice & Kind group (W.A.N.K. for short ) have been advacating a total ban on steel/alloy bullbars on 4X4s in the metro area for the last coulpa years, stating that they "aren't pedestrain friendly" and they are "certain killers" . They see no reason for steel/alloy bullbars to be within the metro area at all, that includes for example ....me passing through from one side of the state to d other !!!!
They had a yota st/wag fitted with an alloy bar hit 80lit plastic drum filled with water @ 50kph and the bar distroyed the drum and water went every where, it also phucked the front of the yota because the bar bent back and stayed back after the impact....
They also did the same stunt using a "plastick" bulbar and that left the yota unscathed and didnt distroy the drum but lotsa water still came out.
That was shown on ACA ( A Current Affair) bout a year ago.
They also attacked the "B&S" ute owners for much the same thing a couple of months later and tried to have the bigger bullbars that they fit to their utes outlawed..... mind you truck/semi bullbars are ok for the time being and do serve their purpose... go figure that one !!!
On a trip to the city a year or so ago I was confronted by a member of W.A.N.K in regard to my barwork.... my response was "and just how the phuck do you bolt a 9000lb winch to a lump of recycled plastic ya W.A.N.K ?"... response was ...." whats a winch " !!!!!!
new pedestrain film called .... "DANCES WITH BULLBARS" its a hit ! |

I didn't study physics, but I'm pretty sure, bull bar or not if you're stupid enough to step out in front of me at 60kms an hour your dead (or at least you'd want to be!).
Which bit of "cars are made for roads, pedestrians are made for footpaths" don't these idiots understand? |

Your talking logic there, they have never managed to answer that..
If you keep that up, they will ban all cars over 120kgs, as most people could handle a hit from the All Blacks players and walk away, some of them are ~120kg...

At lunch today I was having a look at what vehicles had bullbars in the city..
Lots of trucks, lots of utes (and 2wd rodeo types etc), few 4wds, quite a few taxis....
I love how people just lump 4wd's and bullbars together.. |

THOSE F&$%N WANKERS WHO WANNA BAN BULLBARS SHOULD BE PUT IN A CAR WITH NO BULLBAR DRIVING AT 110KM/H AND GET HIT BY A ROO
THEN THEY WILL APRRECIATE THE NEED FOR A BULLBAR
those idiots are just plain bloody stupid
like ben sed cars are for the road and pedestrians are for the footpaths

Problem is, they are going public to complain about Bullbars whilst Bullbar owners are just complaining amongst themselves. Need to fight fire with fire and justify their need and use.

Unbolt my bullbar now !!!!!!!!!!! NEVER.

Was in reply to Bundytunna's comment of 'how' and 'who'. The fact of the matter is that the 4wd asscociation does not enter the polictical arena and jump to the defence of these kind of allagations.
The groups that lobby against SUV's, Bullbars, 4x4's in general get there way as no one confonts them on their level. Yes we all get mad and tell them to fark off and that they are farking idiots and how we want to run them over. But all this does is shine more bad light on 4x4 users and they get there way even more than before.
All I am saying is, getting mad and bad talking them amongst ourselves will get no where. |

What a crock! They accept there is a legitimate use for bull bars but don't want them in the city. Does their proposal include subsidising farmers/rural communities to for pay for additional freight if they can't drive into the city to pick up supplies? Does their proposal include reimbusing the farmer for the cost of removing/refitting their bull bar by a mechanic every time they have to go into suburbia?
The Australian Design Rules do not specify a profile for the front of a vehicle but only specified "no dangerouse projections" so WTF. Really hate when people made up stupid rules that are only good in fantasy land.
Car manufactures always talking about designing vehicle for the harsh Australian condition. Well in my book that includes a few skippy's too. My bar is staying on until a barrel of water bounced out in front of me. |

have to agree 100% with you there.....
This morning while I was out n about I did a quick count of bull bars in the local village. I only counted 4x4's that had front hubs.
22--->No bullbar fitted at all and running the std factory bumper
Of these 22 4x4's, 3 vehicles were more than 2 years old !
81---> Bullbar only, no driving lights, winch, or ariels fitted
Of these a vast majority were around the 5 to 10 years old mark
97---> Bullbar with 2 driving lights but no winch or ariels fitted
Of these 90% would of had "KMart" style driving lights fitted and probably still with the 55watt std globes!
17---> Bullbar with 2 or more driving lights, A Winch, ariels and side intrusion bars also fitted.
TOTAL ---217 4x4's of which I've got to say the 81 & 97 lot really dont need em but they are there because the vehicle was probably purchased with a bullbar already attached. |

Well on a positive note, someone I know had the misfortune to hit a pedestrian who decided to set out in front of her at 60k/h...luckily for him she only clipped him and he ended up with a broken arm and a few bruises/cuts.
The prick did a couple of grands damage to her car (she was driving an Excel...) and had the balls to sue her. Her insurance company stepped up, fought it in court, ended up winning (so she paid nothing)... and the guy got charged and found guilty of jay-walking!.
So at least once in our lifetime common sense prevailed! |

There was a W.A.N.K report published ast year some time that said bullbars caused? 10% of all pedestrian deaths, they neglected to mention however what caused the other 90% of deaths - Go figure RACWA is fighting quite strongly on the side of bullbars - that helps a little! |
