lazy day today finished stripping the other rear door and played around with the hood lining

Used the same principle as the roof basically i cut the sunroof hole out of the lining and joined the 2 pcs together.

I see some bastard stole the guard off your grinder, and your gloves too Crying or Very sad just hope they left you with the saftey mask.

I had a thin cutting disk disintegrate on me the other day. The guard directed the chunks onto the job and one chunk bounced up and hit my saftey glasses Embarassed scary sh!t and lucky it didn't get me in the face ( I need to get a mask ).

Ute's looks cool Wink

Does anyone who actually uses a grinder keep the guard on??? I wouldn't be able to do 90% of the things I do with my grinder if I did that.

The only time I use a guard is when using the (suicudal) carbide-toothed blades for cutting ally.

When i cut masonry stuff i use the guard (different grinder) as the bits that come off are like shards of glass!

Yep, especially after reading the coroners report on the poor guy who didn't.
Grinder had a bigger wheel than it was supposed to, it exploded due to the higher speed, piece went through his sternum and into his heart.

How big were the speakers you had up the back of the roof liner? Any issues? Looking for a place for a second pair of JBL's in mine.

Hi Mick,

The weight of the speakers screwing up the headliner. Didn't know RR mounted speakers there as stock on later models. I've got an early headliner that would have disintegrated if I hadn't reinforced it. Looks like 6" aren't going to fit - then again I could actually get out the tape measure, open the tailgate and see!

cheers, DL

Mine don't on the 87 Rangie, they screw up into the hooldlining. I have had the lining at the back almost fall down though (fixed this with some good 'ol tek screws Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil )

The ute at this stage of the build is looking the goods. You are more game than I am with the angle grinder Shocked

Roof was tested this arvo and it went back on so it's the rear roof brace and the backing plate and it back to the engineer!
