MAte has an MQ SWB, we are looking at doing a coil conversion.
Front-
If we were to take the coil mounts off a GQ, and weld them onto the MQ chassis, will there be suitable room on the MQ diff to mount the springs,

Rear-
I see no problem with taking the rear mounts off a GQ and welding them to the MQ, and having the springs line up.

I think you'll find the MQ has a wider chassis than the GQ and narrow diffs so there won't be much room Confused

Shorty MQ is right.... there 60mm diff from memory between the chassis rails, but I will certainly be watching this as I want to do a 5 link to mine later this year.

I have seen it done quite well.
Don't bother cutting the coil mounts off a GQ chassis, it would be quicker to make new stuff, and the GQ design leaves a lot to be desired..
Use TJ jeep coils for the front, the smaller diameter makes fitting them in easier, the one I have seen had rangie coils in the back, they make life simpler as they are flat at both ends. But you could use anything.
The link set-up on the one I have seen was a bit fuct, but there is lots of room to play around with, and you should be able to get it set up well.
