Plus I have updated the web page with some new content.
http://member.ctinets.com/~jamesnleisl
I have a whole pile of new technical stuff to add over the next few weeks.
Big thanks go to Steve Rowlandson www.offroad.au.com for hosting the new vids for me.
Also a big thanks to all those that have shown an interest in the MudCow and emailed feedback. While ever you guys keep enjoying the vids, I'll keep making them |

Kick ass vids man! You're getting quite creative with your editing there. And the MudCow is getting better and better. Keep on rockin' JK. |

The Pipes is your best vid to date my friend. Very skillful driving there and no fuss camera work. There were some good recovery techniques and the driving terrain is so interesting. I dig it a lot. |

Thanks... There was some cool stuff in that one. More good luck than good driving at times
I have exhausted the play-area out the back I might have to start looking for some more natural terrain for the next series of vids.
These vids will feature the new tyres (bigger diameter) and wheel spacers. |

Bigger dia... from 6" to 6.7" or a 12% increase... like going from 44" to 49.5" tyres
1/2" wheel spacing (per wheel) to give a total 1" increase in width. The new tyres are a little narrower so the wheel spacers still give the width for side-slopes. It is quite an incredible improvement on the sideslopes with the spacers... I'll shoot another vid to show the improvement. When I put the old tyres on, it is way more difficult to roll on the side-slope.
I haven't lifted it, but the bigger rubber makes a difference in height and gives an extra 10mm or so clearance under the diffs. |

Hey Ben,
Thanks mate... the new tyres are awesome. Plus with the spacers I get over 10" articulation compared to about 9" previously.
To my knowledge, there is no hilux or tacoma bodies available, but I will check if they have realeased any recently. This is one of the reasons why I am running a J33p body (sorry Wooders )
I have also priced all the electronics plus some other goodies for your truck. I'll shoot you an email over the w/e... and tell GG that the digi is in the bag... |

Mine has a stadium truck body, with roll bar etc.
With the right stickers, it could be made to look like a lux. |

Hey JK,
Love the little truck, love the vids and top marks for making her work so well.
How far away from the RF unit can the MCM operate at? Is 200 metres practical? I guess you just walk along behind it on longer runs so you can see?
Awesome stuff bloke, very impressed. |

I think this bloke's solid modelling is superior to my ice cream sticks and drawing pins. And probably more fun too. |

Thanks Pete.
I only have a cheap Futaba AM transmitter, which is good for about 100m with a clear line of sight but it will start to glitch if there are any metallic structures around. FM will give much better quality signal and be good for a much longer range (this is what they use for RC helicopters and planes etc) but they cos a fortune.
In practice, you can only control a crawler from a few metres away because you are driver and spotter at the same time... therefore AM radio is fine for a crawler. |

Pete, I'll be back in late Dec... for good (in the interim that is...)
I plan to bring it along to any and all 4b gatherings that I attend like I did for TTC. I would be only too happy to have others give it a go and also put on a bit of a demo for you guys.
I hope to be up to QLD for at least one round of XRCC and the MudCow will definitely be there with me.
You will be surprised with what she can do |
