Very nice!!
Why do u choose to use cantilevers rather than having the spring directly mounted to the link? Do u get better control, or more articulation?
Thanx

The geometry and materials are identical to the MudCow.
The MudCow has had more attention to removal of excess material to lighten the chassis. This is a very time consuming exercise to do right. |

To magnify the effective stroke of the shocks, plus the canti link can flex sideways a lot more than the standard shock, plus the shockie would foul the tyre at full articulation unless you locate the shocks 1/2 way along the links like russell does on bumpy.
Plus I think they look cool |

Yeah, there is a very limited production run of 3 trucks coming out of the workshop.
You might be aware of Shane's SOMC (Son of MudCow)
Also a mate up in QLD
And the Rockroach. |

With the extra sideways flex, does that effect the steering at all? ie. is it sloppier? |

]Bumpy has her links from the diff supports to the chassis .
Its Big Juggs that has her shocks mounted up the links.
Having the shocks mounted on an angle from the diff to the chassis works in the same way as your gas struts on your car.As they compress they fold up out of the way,and thus you get more movement out of your shock |

Fourwheelin'... I could possibly build another truck or two but I have run out of some key parts (like the flange bearings, ballends, Clod kits...) so if you wanted a chassis built up you would need to supply the clod kit and I would need to try and source the parts I need. You on the Central Coast? Come and have a play with the MudCow and see if you like it.
daRangie... the steering is fine becasue it's the 4-link that locates the axle.
Russell... Yeah I forgot about that. I haven't taken a really good look at Bumpy with body off. You get some awesome articulation out of it!!!! I tried a setup like that but couldn't get it to work right. |
