The alternator on my 22RE powered Corona has kicked the bucket. The battery won't charge and needs a jump start every time. Are there any obvious quick checks/fixes? If I had to replace the alt, should I go with a reco'd standard item, an aftermarket one, or a bigger capacity one from something else? What's the going rate for a reco alternator?

Mine shat itself about a month or two ago. I just got a new one from repco for $120-$130. Works perfecty and it handels my new dual battery system fine. I am pretty sure the brand is champion.

I didn't look into options I needed one within an hour and that was the 1st one I found.

d'oh Wink I do now!

FB (fat bastard) used to have a mercedes benz GD300 with auto, and as a safety there was something that would allow it to clutch start at anything above 15kph?!?!? Fawk if I know how it works? Maybe it was 20? Either way, stoner mobile.
