Since Mark's Adapters are the Aussie dealer for Advance Adapters, I rang them and wanted to order my gear throught them but they told me to get it from the States directly...
So after talking to the folks at Advance Adapters,
I bought mine from Rusty's Offroad in Alabama,
who at the time were the cheapest.
http://www.rustysoffroad.com/
And organised my own freight through SCI
http://www.sciaustpl.com.au/
That was back in the days when the dollar was at 50cents, so don't ask me about cost -- it's too painful!!! |

I have been looking at this recently.
Cheezy did a 1 off import . . . all were pre-ordered and are now off the shelves. He was quoting a cost of around A$4k landed but warned that Australian businesses tended to rank fairly low on AA's priority list and the wait was often 8+ weeks.
I have started looking at the private import option for a number of parts on my TJ. Just be warned that there are a heap of hidden fees and that most US vendors won't accept an Aussie credit card because they are not protected - something to do with fraud and credit jurisdictions.
Based on my enquiries, I would add somewhere near 20-25% of the price to cover the GST, duty, customs fees, etc and that's after you've pulled up your pants from being raped with the shipping charges. |
