guys,
with only 2,000 KM on odo (the car stood for 5 years) I have a noise & vibration from the transfer shift (basic transfer for R150F - 2H->4H->N->4L, no lockers)
the vibration is getting to a pick at 100 km/h
if I strongly hold the shift it will be reduced, same as if will go up to 120 km/h
anyhow, the engine is not in it's cruising at 100-120 km/h as this is nto a very pleasant drive
Ideas are welcome !!

More info needed... Auto??
Lock up torque converter problem. It tries to lock up at 90kph in 4th gear. When you have the throttle between acceleration and engine braking the noise and vibration is at its worst. New gearbox time. $5000 for new auto |

With the outher posts about this 4b, have you checked the tyres because after sitting for 5 years it could have flat spots on them. just a thought!! |

sorry
the car is 5 gears manual
Tyres are new (replaced when I got the car)
One option might be that the car is lifted and no castor bushings were done
(see pic - http://picasaweb.google.com/disco4x4/LC100Series# )
can anyone tell me the current lift of the car ?
I will change suspensions soon and will do the bushings as well |

Any chance it was picked up with a Forklift while in customs? If so its probably got a bent rear tailshaft(propshaft). |

Ruff
this is an option that did not cross my mind (and I think about it a lot)
How can i tell ? as this happens at high speed, I guess that the bent is very minor and won't been seen by eye |

I balanced the wheels again and increase pressure to 35 PSI - much better now, but still noise at 70-100 |

got it
after looking at several threads, could it be that due to the height of the car
the castor bushings are the reason ?
I plan to change to Tough Dog 2" + Fox remote gas reservoir shocks and will do the castor bushings |
