I have a buyer for a SD33T and a 5 speed gearbox from an MQ SQB Patrol I am wrecking and I told him he could have both for $1000.
Engine still went well and the gearbox was nice and tight. Should I have asked for more? I saw a post where someone reckoned the 5 speed gearboxes were worth a bit of money.
Thoughts anyone? |

dont look back.. its the past, and the deals already done and forgotten.
It'll only bring misery. The past is there to learn from and thats about as far as it goes |

Dunno why the 5-speed would be particularly valuable. Fifth gear is as weak as p155 in them. In saying that, I didn't have any other problems with it. |

5 speed boxes in MQ's are pretty rare and uncommon, they only made an appearance in the late models. They are worth anything from $500 to $1000, wreckers charge more than this!!!!!
with regards to the motor, a standard SD33 running well and complete is worth anything form $500 to a Grand as well and the SD33T is worth more than this for sure!!

I would say you definitely could have gotten more. But - you've made someone happy and got what you were asking. No reason to feel bad; in fact, reason to feel good.

The 5 spd could have fetched upwards of $900
The SD33T would bring around the $1500 mark
For future reference..... If in doubt on a fair price ring a wrecker and ask him what one is worth ( make it sound like ya looking for what you are selling )
No good worring about it now..... but learn by your mistakes
Any chance you can cancell the sale...... any one can change their mind !

Thanks for your replies.
I guess $1000 in the bank is better than dreaming about $1500 or so.
I have a deposit so I'll have to stick with the $1000 unfortunately.
I do have other parts to sell...but will post an ad in the for sale section for them once I find out the diff ratios. I have heard the 4.6 diff ratios are worth a bit more....is this the case? |

4.6 is the standard ratio most mq's run.

SD33T equiped vehicles run 4.3's centre's in them with LSD in the back.
All other 2.8's and n/a sd33 run 4.6's
The cab chassi patrol ran 4.8's with a different rear diff from memory.
Anyone got a set of 4.8 they want to part with.
Will swap the 5sp and shafts for 4.8's |
