Ok, I am tcreating a Light Bar for the Roll bar that will have four lights running off it.

Can I run them to a single relay and run one wire from the 4 lights, albeit a beefy one? Or do I have to run all four wires back to something beefy. I want them all to come off the one switch on the dash like a normal spot light - high beam combo.

Or just run two relays and then run one wire to the dash for the switch that comes from the two relays?

Anyone help me out here?

the way i would do it is 2 5pin(normally open realys 2 x 85 pins) 1 realy does 2 lights......makin the load even over the 4 lights...then all u do if u want it all off the one switch juts run the earth for the 2 relays into 1 wire running to ur switch (in dash) then earth the other side of the switch to sumwhere close to ur switch under ur dash.

will u do it so they can be switched with ur highbeam(legal)?
if so all u do is splice the highbeam wire running from ur headlights to ur 2 realys.

dont forget a inline fuse for the 2 realys.( i used mini blade fuse holder casue it looked the most water proof)

if u want ill get ya a diagram let me know!!!
goodluck !

really depends wattage of lights you are putting in.remember most relays are 30A unless you get one specifically for the job. one with two outputs (85) would be good idea as Macca said

amps = (total watts) divided by volts

All makes sense except where to put the inline fuses..........

Between the light and the relay?
Between the relay and the battery?
Between the Switch and the relay?

u put the inline fuse's between the +power to the relay!

i used mini blade fuse from supercheap auto!
i ran the power off my alternator to the relay... u will just need 2 wires Smile to each relay

ok i shoudla dun this 1st Very Happy

5 pin relay has a 86,87,87,30,85 pins

86 = EARTH (i put a in dash switch for this wire)
87 = power to + one spotti
87 = power to + one other spotti
30 = to battery with inline fuse(its best to make this as short as possible)
85 = to ur switch for the relay (highbeam wire to be legal)

that will get 2 spotties wired clean..u can do it other ways but i think this is the neatest way and safest:)
