just had two kids maybe 13-14, not even up to my shoulders and they would of been lucky to weigh as much as me combined try and mug me.
bit after 1am at Altona train station.
Don't really remember much of it, but why do I feel bad for hurting kid's while trying to keep my wallet and phone |

Hope you smacked the crap out of them enough to discourage them from pulling that on anyone else. Hope you're ok and you should go to the cops if you haven't already. These idiots need to get some consequences.
Seems a pretty sad indictment on society as a whole that we have kids who think that this sort of behavior is the way to go. |

Are you sure you feel bad for hurting them or are you sad at the current state of society? humanity never fails to disappoint me. Ultimately the best thing you could do for these kids is smack some sense into them. Please do not get the police involved as jail time will only make them more likely to continue a life of crime.
Lets just hope they're just mucking up and not unfortunate enough to be from a family of criminals. |

... same as the drop-kick kids you get around Toongabbie
You can't even go to the supermarket without some nine or ten year old coming up and asking you for a dollar, and when you say no they'll spit at you...
... and people wonder why I'm a childless misanthrope |

They weren't poorly dressed or unclean or street kid's, they seemed like they were from semi-well to do family's. Didn't go quite as far as breaking there arm's but next time they'll think twice and probably come at me with a knife instead
I just couldn't beleive the kid's had the balls to try and punch someone twice his size, and then when the first one didnt faze me he tried again. my staffy packs a bigger punch than these kid's did |

Still report them if you haven't already, it's a worry only a matter of time before they do it to someone less capable of defending themselves. |

And you wonder why people are reluctant to take public transport anymore.
Wonder if the government realise they need to crack down on idiots on public transport abusing others. |

Undoubtedly at that very moment there was a cop within a few kms handing a ticket to an honest citizen who did 67 in a 60 zone.
But it's too much like police work to get out and do a foot patrol around our train stations and commercial areas. |

LOL try living in Ashfield http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/story/0,21598,24265959-2761,00.html (thats just a article from last night)
I live just down the road from the ashfield train station yet i go to the next stop and walk back to my house if i catch the train at night, I dont get why they always put problem familys in public housing right next to train stations, is it so they dont have to walk as far to mug people? |

No it's because land next to train lines is cheapest, because you or i don't want the noise/traffic/people unloading on our doorstep.
they're not going to put public housing on $$$ land are they? |

I believe its because problem families often don't have a car so they need access to public transport and the prices go down as a result of that. You can't hear trains from a decent sized block away so the prices would only go down in the immediate vicinity if it were due to noise levels IMO. |

Good on you for giving them what for.
I would say go to the Police with footage etc but I get the feeling becuase of their age YOU may end up in hot water for defending yourself.
You felt bad "beating up on kids" because you MORALS.
My advice is to just let it go and hope like hell they learn their lesson. |

on the flip side this could also be a good reason to have a family so you can have kids who are decent and well behaved and respectful of others |
