im looking at getting a GU and ive noticed the 2.8s seem to be fairly cheap? are they any good? anything i should watch out for? we are going to be doing central australia next year so I want to make sure whatever we get can cut it....

They are great as donor bodies for other engines and gearboxes.
I first saw that when I didn't have fuzz on my nuts and I'm now 44.

ive just bought a 98 model st with 310 thousand ks with injector pump done and rebuilt motor 50thoudsand ago and it goes very well and awesome on fuel i got 880ks out of a main tank on highway so im rapped

did a head gasket on one at work a while back, but thats not the problem, once i finished it i road tested it and nearly killed myself pulling out of a side street cause it was so gutless! it was soo laggy it just wasn't funny! I think the computer emissions controls may have a bit to do with that thou unfortunately.

yeh they are a bit gutless but just means u gotta give it a bit more boot. i got one running 33's and it runs great. great off road a fair bit of grunt if u get the revs up past the turbo lag first. they run 13 pound boost as stadard so thats good. i love mine and it goes just as hard off road as my mates 4.2's
