Slightly off topic (as if anyone cares about that around here anyway!) but fark it irks me when people label extreme sport bails as 'Darwin Award candidate' or 'stupid idiot' etc.

Bailing on a 540 tailwhip at 10 foot above the coping, or on a double backflip on a 75 foot ramp isn't stupid, it's people pushing the limits of their sport.

true you dont hear people calling some one an idiot for trying to get that extra flip in a diving comp and landing heavy into the pool, but an extra flip in a non-mainstream sport is considered a darwin award

There's a little bit of risk assessment behind that.

"What if she misses that extra flip and lands heavy in the pool?"

"Well, it's water, and we have lifeguards on stand-by."

Its funny when someone nails a triple backflip superman no hander lander everyone goes "COOL, that rocks!"

But when someone crashes and hurts himself badly attempting the same thing everyone goes "What a TOOL, didnt he know he could hurt himself doing that sort of thing? Oh my god will someone think of the childeren????"
