Does anybody have any modification ideas to better my fuel economy to my standard TJ ? I do quite a bit of travelling for work and was hoping there is a solution to getting some better fuel economy out of my rig. (other than getting a lighter foot)
Also any ideas on increasing power/responsiveness without comprising fuel comsumption (I want my cake and eat too! )
Cheers[/img][/i][/b] |

Face it, it's a big mother of an engine so you are not gonna get fuel economy at all - just fuel usage |

bigger tyres, less revs at highway speeds.it will take power though and wont be any better in the city. |

Because they already rev so low, it will get worse with bigger tyres unless you do your ratios.
Try a K'and N air filter. and cat back exhaust. |

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it's a Wrangler thing... expect even worse economy with the roof off! |

Yeah what he said and make sure it's always downhill and try not to use the engine! An aftermarket hole cut in the floor which allows your feet through to push often increases economy. |

Just for interest, what is the fuel usage for 100km's on the highway. |

Get used to it
I've got a 4 door JK and I get 20/100 around town and 13.5 on a long highway run
my worst was 25 towing a camper through the dunes |
