a lot of 80's have power steering leaks , i was just wondering wats the main seal that goes on them or how much could i get a 2nd hand power steering box . |

a 2nd hand box could cost up to 800, and a complete seal kit doesnt cost more than 50.
in my case the input shaft seal was leaking. |

Mate just got a change over box from repco, $420. Was told because it was totally stuffed, no assist even at idol it wasnt worth rebuilding.
$910 from toyota brand new. |

The input shaft seal is the main seal to go, you turn it 10 times to get one revelution on the mainshaft, so it figures
A set of seals in that other box would recondition it, seal kits are not cheap,. $80 aftermarket or $200 Toyota as a rough guide, but there is very little to wear other than seals in there... |
