Hey, Mrs Ds pajero(late 93). The speedo has stopped working again, but this time the trip counter and the counter that does total kms travelled(odometer) isnt working either.
Everything else seems to be working fine, tacho, fuel, temp, etc appears to be good.
It happened before about 6months or so ago, I just gave the speedo a bit of a tap and it came good again.
Im guessing that a plug or something has come loose or off, but its only a guess.
Is there a fuse that only does the speedo??
If it is just a plug on the back, do I ave to pull the whole dash out to get to it??
Any ideas??

NH or NJ? NH has cable wheras NJ is electronic. Presuming it is a NJ the dash will have to come out. Might be just a loose plug going into the cluster.

Not sure what your model is, but it sounds as if it has a speedo cable, in which case it may be broken or the coupling screw may have come undone either at the top or at the gearbox. If is is a later model, it will be an electric speedo, in which case as stated above it could be a loose plug.

Getting the instrument cluster out to check its back connections is not hard - a few screws, one of which you see thru the windscreen.

I have an NL and I dread ever going near the gearbox because there is absolutely NO room to get my ands, eyes or anything else near it. I would love to know where the reversing light switch is because mine needs replacing/cleaning/something...

Mattkizza:
I don't want to hijack this topic, but are you referring to the speedo drive or to the reversing light switch?
