Can I ask why? You'd need to change your rear diff too, since a GQ output is central, whereas a cruiser is offset. No idea how you would bolt it to motor, whats wrong with a H55F ? plenty strong and much easier to bolt together! |

H55F is a truck gearbox, and the gearbox you hear a lot about going bang is the R151F. |

the H55F is strong enough for the 12H-T. put your money into an intercooler instead. |

is there anything about toyotas you do like?
it is possible but expensive to graft nissan diffs or axles into a landcruiser, but once again the existing diffs are quite strong. there's no way (short of violent abuse) that a 12H-T has the nuts to bust a toyota diff. it's basically the same diff right up to the 80 series, there are plenty of turbo 80's out there pumping twice the torque of a 12H-T without blowing diffs. |

How did the diffs die? front or rear? I can understand hi pinion fronts going, but the rear? havent heard of many going unless abused or poor built. |

the first diff that went was a rear on a 92 75 series had about 250 on the clock and decided to shed i think 3 or 4 teeth off the crown wheel from memory, on my way up to swan hill one weekend. the second was about 2 months ago but i was giving it a hard time up a track we found in toolangi. the troopy made it but one of the spider gears did'nt and my mate has a mid 90's 75 series that has had the rear pinion bearings and crown wheel fail on seperate occasions. he is a builder so its loaded up pretty good most of the time. all these vehicles are non turbo
Is this unusual? cos from what ive heard some people say its to be expected of toyota running gear |

diffs get old and wear out. thats life. its not like a gq has never blown a diff and if you spend countless time/money on the conversion, its still not going to be a garentee that its never going to break. |
