Went to the doc's yesterday and was told i got carpel tunnel in my right hand and an inflamed Ulnar nerve in my left.
Right hand gets bad cramps in it when doing constant repeditive actions and also gets pins and needles alot when sleeping.
Left hand- both little finger and ring finger has reduced feeling and is slightly numb. also lost some strength.
Has anyone else has these symptons and what have they done to fix it?

Yup, got the same problem in my left hand.
Pinky and ring finger are slightly numb, kinda like pins & needles.
It started after a weekend of dirt bike riding in January, and has been there ever since.
I've been told it's either surgery, or live with it! |

Had CT in my right hand. Operated on abt 7yrs ago, still get a slight numbness if using mower or riding a motorbike but thats abt it. Apparently the Doc who did mine was very good at this sorta stuff... From what I've heard it's an op or live with it choice. If you leave it, it's not uncommon for it to get worse.. |

Hmmm, you'd think most 13year boys would be suffering from it. Must manifest itself later on in life. errrr

But if your hands are numb it would feel like somebody else is doing it for you. |

i have the beginings of ct in both hands and arthritis in my left wrist
and most of my knuckles have had most of my life
my father is bad has had the op on one hand and is going to have to have his wrist fused because he left it for too long i am only 25
dad is 48 and has retired early due to having only 20% mobility in his hands has worked this way for almost 10 years
i find the cramping to be the worst part especially unscrewing bolts in awkward spots by hand gets me every time
i have found mechanics gloves to work well to reduce the cramps and a wheat pillow warmed up at night plus nurofen emulgel (spelling?)
helps you sleep better
and masturbation well hit the misses up instead |

My missus has pregnancy related CT at the moment and she has had some wrist splints made b a physio for her, although she has to take them off to do basic things like make a cuppa, she has noticed a huge difference when she is wearing them. No pins & needles etc... |

Basically, as far as I know, you will need to kinda retrain yourself on how you use your hands and wrists. |

The CT in my right hand is under control as ive learnt to do things differently. Rather than twist the wrist i move my entire arm ( kinda like flapping )
My big problem is the Ulnar nerve problem i have in the left hand. Its caused by the forearm muscles squashing the nerve and causing the reduced sensation. You still get full movement from the 2 fingers it affects but you slowly loose strengths and feeling.
Example. hold little finger straight and push against its end. You cannot hold it straight like you normally could.
Gotta go for an EMG to see where the problem is and from there they can dicide how to fix it.. Surgery is a last option. |

Wow this post caught my eye.
I have been seeing a specialist for about 6 months now for severe pain in my right ankle.
I now know for sure I have gout.(Im 30yrs old and dont drink)
I have severe attacks every month or so and now allmost every joint in the right side of my body is affected.
More recently I am having severe pins and needles in all my fingers at night. One night a few weeks ago in bed all my fingers cramped up so bad it felt like I had electric current running through my fingers.(It really scared me)
I now need to do a nerve test and go from there. |

I get something similar mate, unfortunately mine is not CT. I suffer from a muscle condition in my hands which results in pain when gripping anything for more than a few minutes or when doing repetitive tasks.
I have yet to find a way to stop this, but I havn't really spoken to a doctor past diagnosis on it either. |

froon, soak your hands in warm moving water, helps the blood circulation (hands must be submerged, not just under a tap) |

There is a drug for gout these days that just straight up works, afaik.
Failing that there's some natural remedies that have a bit of evidence behind them; try celery seed. |

Hrmm food for thought, the symptoms are all aligned but I've suffered for this for as long as I can remember... I remember struggling to hold a pen because of pain as a child. |

I've got slight nimbness in my left hand little & ring fingers. Sometimes its hard top grip a spanner or cable tightly. I some tests done and they cleared me of ulnar nerve damage. Has slowly got better (over 12months), now I hardly notice it.
As others have said (as has my doc), live with it or surgery. Surgery won't guarantee a 100% or permanent fix. I chose to leave mine. |
