What's the difference between power and stereo cable?
If it's the same size, eg 12AWG, I was told stereo cable is not suited for power applications due to higher resistance.
I was told amps etc need a certain resistance for it to not 'see' an open circuit??? |

It all depends on what amp you want to run. |

If this information was given to you by a "doof-doof" guru, you have pretty much answered your own question.
Copper = Copper
12 AWG = 12AWG
OFC ccables make sweet FA difference in any significant terms (maybe fractions of a milliohm per hundred feet).
All "marketing" directed to ricers.

the resistance your talking about is speaker load, as far as cables go tho, they are equal, just measured differently |

Yeah I figured if the cable size is the same, and they're both made of copper then resistance should be the same.
Freakin' audiophiles wanting something different. |
