someone at the outerlimits weekend told me an 80 series air locker will fit my front diff in the bundy... that is a high pinion 4.3 ratio diff.
there is someone with an airlocker to suit the rear 80 series diff. will this fit?? |

to clarify.
the carrier for the REAR of the bundy (87-on) is the same as the carrier for the FRONT of the 80 series, air locker part number RD23.
the carrier for the FRONT of all bunderas is the same as early hilux rears. (RD01 I think)
you CAN bolt an 80 series front diff into a bundy front axle but you need the whole case etc, otherwise the fatter bearings don't fit - so if you want to you could run RD23's front and rear. this works with your original 4.56 or 4.88 gears.
I have the RD23 in back and the RD01 (I think, check www.arb.com.au) in front, have never been close to breaking either.
IF you can get your hands on a RD23 (80 series front), put it in the back, it will give you more offroad than LSD rear/locker front. |

I recently went to swap my rear LSD for a welded hilux centre on someones advise that it would fit. As you said the carrier was larger. So an airlocker to suit which vehicle?, will fit in the rear of me bundy?. Also, can the LSD from the rear be fitted to the front.....how much work, what is involved?
Cheers

front of 80 series, front of 1990 on 75/78/79 series, front of 105 series, rear of late hilux (1988 on), rear of turbo/V6 4runner, prado(90 and 120 series) rear 1993 on.

only if you get a front diff casing from a '90-on 75/78/79,80,105 series. itr won't fit in your existing casing as the bearings are too big.
